hi all. I'm new to these boards and found them only after the omdd sweepstakes started. In fact, this is my first post . With all the speculation on the contest, i thought i'd pop on here and let you know another experience with it. I'll try to give you as much info as i can/feel comfortable with - if not for any other reason than worrying about jinxing us!

As of tuesday the 10th (which coincides with the "on or about" date), my husband was notified he was a "potential winner." he's been entering daily through the website (not text) and was notified via email from ventura associates. They asked him to reply with his full name, address and phone number within 24 hours. He did and on thursday, we received a fedex package with the letter from va stating what sweepstakes it was for, an affidavit that needed to be notarized and a return overnight fedex label.

Of course we happily obliged and sent it back the same day (yesterday) so it should get to them sometime today. So that's where things currently stand. I hope that this info will help and that yes (at least in our situation), they are notifying some people via email before sending out the fedex package.

Well-in my case, altho i did book a trip thru Disney 3 years ago, i might have moved, For WDW to just ASSUME my address on their website is still valid from years ago is silly-thus the need toverify it, as the rules state.

Why cant YOU see that?

What they are assuming is that people who have accounts are capable of updating the address in their wdw website profile. Since to enter people have to use their login from the website it is their responsibility to keep it up. If they don't then it's their problem if disney sends it to the wrong address.

If people use text then it's up to them to answer the phone if they call, and give them an address, or if they have the cell number attatched to their wdw profile then see the above and keep their info updated.

Disney is required to verify, people will just have to live with that. They are going to use the information that those same people put on thier profiles, if they aren't up to date then they'll have to live with that as well.

What I can see and my opinion is that some people should just not enter contests.

Another good reason to update your info prior to entering any kind of sweeps.

Coley didn't mention an exact email address, but said hers came from "ventura associates," so I'm assmuning you should be able to see that as the display name or something similar as part of the actual email address. I'm guessing the subject line would reference Disney as well.

Everything was the same for me except the email - I even went back through my junk mail and searched for disney and I searched again for Ventura and nothing. SO my only guess is since I have recently booked a vacation online that they used that as my mailing address.



I only have a few business days left t till I get my next package from them

The date is Jan 5 and 'Ventura#WALTXXXX' (fill in X's with numbers) Since I'm not sure what any of that info is (though I can speculate the date is the date his name was drawn), I don't want to just throw it out there. (Before becoming a SAHM, I used to run payroll for companies, so I STILL have super-sensitive-confidentiality issues ) I don't see his name on the winners list yet, but they only received his affidavit about 15 minutes ago (yes, I was tracking it as well).

We also recently took a trip to Disneyland last month, but we booked everything through the airline, so I don't think Disney had our name and address on file.

As for which park we'll choose.... I'm pretty sure we'll pick Disneyland at Christmas time again (if that's an option). It just seems....I dunno...EXTRA magical at that time. We have two small boys (who will just be turning 6 & 8 when we want to go) and I feel it's probably a more manageable trip, in addition to the fact that since we live in WA, the flight to FL would eat up a day. We've taken each of our boys to DL on their 5th birthdays, but this one would be a surprise trip. We've always wanted to do that, but never had the opportunity.

I'll be following along to see how your progress goes. I'm so curious to find out what our options are! We've NEVER won anything like this and are both still finding it too good to be true. I'm trying not to let my excitement build until we get the "official notification."

That's actually extremely helpful to know the email won't be coming from a standard Disney address.

Very helpful! I thought email would be addressed from Disney. Did the subject line reference Disney or the specific contest name? I would hate to accidently delete the email because i didn't recognize it!

I can't say exactly what the email looked like coming in, since I only have the email forwarded from my husband. However I can tell you that it came from what looks like a direct email acct (ie: "ColeyOley" <COley@yaddayaddayadda.com) and that the subject line read: One More Disney Day Sweepstakes (followed by a date).
