That's a good idea as well. We should maybe have somewhere that we can communicate without absolutely everyone seeing it. :)

Yes, exactly! :thumbsup2 I'll see what I can think of because it would be nice to be able to see pics from everyone's trips. I feel like we all have become friends with these trips and I would hate to see it end after we all get back!

I won and picked DL and we actually just got our flights, hotel, etc. confirmed yesterday. We are flying into LAX Disney has an express bus that goes from LAX to the DL hotels. They pay for the transportation, obviously, since it is them that's doing the transporting.

The Disneyland Resort Express isn't actually run by Disney. It would cost $100 for a family of 5 so it's not exactly cheap. I'm glad we don't have to pay for it. :thumbsup2

When is everyone going to DL? We're going July 13-18. Are we going to be the first?

We thought about asking if we could have the charge reversed, but we'd rather save the money and use it for our next Disney trip. We'll just stay at another hotel off property for a night for 1/3 of the price. :)

I think they're suggesting that you get on the bus no less than 3 hours before your flight leaves. Since it can take so long, you could always get stuck in traffic and it would be awful to miss your flight because of it. This way you have plenty of leeway.

:confused3

I think that's a great idea to start a thread over there. We've never been to DL and I'm so excited. Because of this stupid class I'm taking I can't spend the hours I want planning right now, until I'm finished. I'm glad the dining reservations aren't like WDW or else I'd have to spend several hours trying to figure out where we want to eat and when. :)

Debby, what did your friends say when you told them you won the contest?

I've only told my two best friends. I wanted to post it on my Facebook page, but my hubby said it would sound like I was bragging. I don't agree, I just haven't gotten around to posting it yet. I emailed them the screen shot of my name on the winner's list, and asked them what, besides Donny Osmond, they recognized on the page. One of them emailed back and just asked what I won. Her email didn't sound very enthusiastic. The other one, the one who is at DL right now, texted me, then called me and wanted all the details, and was super excited for us.

Oh, and we've told the other family we are going with. They are entering every day too, hoping to win. They said they already feel like they've won because they get to go with us. They've said they imagine this is what it's like when you are the close friend from high school of someone like J.Lo, or Brad Pitt. They do these fun things, and take you along so you get some of the perks too. I've said in previous posts that we are going to pay for some things for them because we probably wouldn't have been doing them had we not won, like the 3rd character meal.

What's the reaction been from your friends and family? I think my dad is tired of hearing all Disney all the time, but I think my MIL finally believes we won.

Oh heck, I posted it on my Facebook page, because I was excited and wanted everyone to know it! Seriously, though, when I posted it, I got a lot of Congrats and a few "how in the world did you do that?" Of course, you always have the 1 or 2 skeptics, but if they have to question whether you really won, then maybe they aren't really your friends, right?:confused3

Really? From reading my travel paperwork, I would never have guessed that it wasn't Disney owned. That seems weird since at WDW, they have Disney owned "Magical Express" buses that run constantly between the resort hotels and Orlando airport. At WDW, they even pick up your bags from baggage claim and get them to your room before you arrive!

Sue,

Look into Wyndham Bonnett Creek Resort; it's on Disney property right outside Epcot, but because it's not Disney owned, you can usually get a great price. And there are 1, 2 and 3 bedroom rooms that are big and beautiful! We have stayed there several times and love it! They have a great pool area with a pirate ship slide, lazy river, etc. You won't be disappointed if you stay there, I promise!

Well, we're going to DL so that would be quite the trek, but thanks for the info. ;) It's funny...we almost stayed there last weekend when we went to WDW, but I really wanted to stay on property so we could take advantage of the early EMH so we stayed at the Pop.

So I was having tea this afternoon with my SIL and the doorbell rang. It was about 6pm and dark. I go running to the door screaming "FedEx guy! FedEx guy!" with my 5 year old niece following, open the door and there is my brother looking totally confused.:rotfl:

I didn't know that he was on his way to pick up my SIL. The funniest thing about this whole episode was the way me niece got all excited and had no idea why.:lmao:

Good thing I go back to work next week.

You are absolutely right; it would be quite a trek! What's wrong with that? I forgot that you were going to DL; I'm not sure how I forgot since we have been talking about it forever!;)

Yes, I think that would be a great idea! I was actually trrying to come up with an idea for a private site that we could use to post pics from our trips... yes?No?

Just so long as I get an invite, because I want to see them too!

There are so many of us, it's hard to keep track of who's going where. :lmao:

Guess who just booked the fifth night of their stay at Disneyland? Yep, me.
Guess who used the Gay Days rate and is only paying $179 for their room at the DLH? Yep, me.
Guess who thought it was mildly humorous, when booking the Gay Days rate, putting in her city as Queen Creek? Yep, me.

They actually have a family pass, so it's round trip for $80.

Here's the link to the Disneyland Resort Express: http://graylineanaheim.com/shuttles.shtml. Click on the brochure link for more info. It's actually run by Grayline.

Debby, I think the $80 family pass is from John Wayne. LAX is $99.99. Ah, so glad we don't have to pay it.

Yay! Love it! :thumbsup2 That's a great deal on the room too. The rate they gave me with military discount was $260 plus tax.

Funniest thing I've heard all night; only you could think of that!:lmao:
