The rules said they will call or e-mail you for an address, I used my registered account that I book my vacations with - so they already had it I am assuming :confused3

I do not want to be a "debbie downer" but I would be careful. I know when I won the trip last year the affidavits include a lot of info including social security #s. With this notification coming earlier and in a different manner than the "Official Rules" state, I would call and confirm the win before sending any affidavits.

I am entering this everyday. Plus, my mom is entering to win everyday. Anddddddddddd a local radio station is having a contest to go on the DISNEY FANTASY :thumbsup2

I'm not sure who I would call and verify with - I mean I could call the number on the letter, but I suppose that could be fake too.

I did however check to make sure addresses all matched (the one it was sent from, the one on the letterhead, the one from the internet listed for the company, and the one where I sent the affidavit to) and they did, as well as phone numbers. Even so, Thanks to the military twice letting our SSN's be lost or stolen we have credit protection where when you try to open anything you have to answer an insane amount of questions that could be true or not true...It took me an hour to open a checking account the other day because even I couldn't remember some of the stuff they were asking - lmbo:rotfl:

I wouldn't sweat the validity. Most scams don't involve FedEx. Was the "day" you won January 6th? Enjoy that trip and let us know all the details!! JEALOUS!

I went to the website under firefox and when I put in my info it says "sorry, communication error" I tried using internet explorer, I log in and put my information and it says "sorry not logged in" Which doesn't make sense cause obviously you log in to enter....

Interestingly enough, my mom didn't do her entry for today (I asked her and she didn't) so I put in her username and password and it entered fine :confused3

Maybe you've won and they are blocking you so that you can't win again~!!! Let's just go with it--it MAY be true!!! ;):wizard:

Ha, ha, that thought crossed my mind. I wish! I guess I'll be looking for the fed ex package. However, for a company as big and customer focused as Disney EVERY aspect of their website leaves a lot to be desired, so it's probably just a technical glitch.

So I have been entering everyday and just had a wonderful thought come into my head this morning. What if someone won more than one day :goodvibes I wonder if Disney would let them combo the two trips into a giant 8 night stay with 2000.00 spending money!!! Of course the chances of someone winning the drawing twice in 60 days would be would be so astronomical, they would probably also be struck by lightening before they got to take the trip :rotfl: What if a husband and wife both won on separate days!!! That would be so cool

Didn't I read somewhere in the rules that you can only win once???

I've still not been able to enter online. Have been texting, daily, though.

and I don't get the user id to sign in with bit. Have two emails I use for disney when booking trips... has all my address and info, etc. won't let me sign in with my email address.

when I use my one email address that has a user id associated with it for when I do disney store online.... sometimes it logs me in... but majority of time it says user not found or something like that.
usually dont' even get that far, get the communication error bit.

Another DISer may have been notified as a potential winner. She said she received notice of a Certified letter waiting for her at the post office and wondered if anyone else got one. This was over on the resorts board.

Considering the drawing doesn't take place until tomorrow...

As someone who enters and wins many sweepstakes, please disregard the whole : well the rules state the drawing will be on xyz date : Judging organizations can and do change the rules whenever they feel like it. Most will follow their own guidelines they have set, but it so not uncommon for sweeps to draw on a different day or even end earlier than they say. If you get a letter, delivered via Fedex and they want an affidavit filled out and notarized, its a pretty good bet you are a "potential winner" . If you really want to make sure its legit, google the address on the return envelope they sent with the affy, it should allay any and all fears.

And that leads to my second point, the affy will state "potential" When you fill out the affy it will let you know that you could potentially be a winner. If by some chance you cheated, broke the rules, work for a company affiliated with ABC or Disney, then they will DQ you. Normally, that doesnt happen.

Congrats to the winners so far!

They almost never ever come certified via USPS. For Disney, mine have always been overnight/2nd day air via Fedex.

Entering daily with hopes of pixie dust, but realize that it's a lottery and the odds are against me. If we were to win, it would be a huge blessing. We really need a vacation and there is just no room in the budget for one with two mortgages. One day.....

Thanks! After posting about the fedex letter here I felt like I was committing some sort of crime because I got notification before the 11th! The letter stated I was "potentially" a winner until they received my affy, and it had to be received by them before 3pm on the 11th or they would select an alternate. (I tracked it online and they got it before noon today :surfweb:

Oh Honey I believed you won! Disney is excellent about notifying their winners and you can always tell what sweep you won with them, they include a copy of the rules with the name of the promo right at the top which you were supposed to read before you went to the notary! I am so happy for you, I know how excited I was the first time I won, its so overwhelmingly awesome!! Congratulations! Which park are you going to take, WDW or DL? You will have a blast I am sure, congrats again!!

Thanks - It came with a copy of the rules to read. - we have no idea which we will choose - we are going for 8 nights to WDW in 24 days...so I think we may be leaning towards DL...but who knows! It will be me, DH, and we have 3 kids - if we can add a person (out of pocket) we will take all 3 if not we will leave the youngest at home with my parents (she's almost 3).

I've been entering online successfully until today. I'm getting the same communications error message.

You should be able to add the 3rd OOP, we always extended our stays beyond the actual win times ( its how we always ended up Poly, then Pop, we paid for Pop) Disney promo dept will work really well with you so you can secure a flight for the extra person and everything. They make it really easy. Just so you know, they wont let you add dining, even if it is a free dining period, you cant do that. But we did upgrade our tickets from 4 day hoppers to 10 days hoppers both times, just make sure you use them once before you do the upgrade. This was 3 yrs ago, so ymmv.
