In order to save time, effort and frustration checking in at the Poly, can anyone tell me if we are supposed to go to the DCL desk first or the Poly desk first? Or doesn't it matter? I've read some conflicting references about this.

I have a land/sea package booked too...but we are staying at CBR...I have read that we are to check in at the DCL desk first and then check into the CBR desk...think maybe it would be the same at the POLY....

We checked in at the hotel desk first. That way you get your park hoppers/room keys and can be on your way. The DCL desk is open certain hours and you can go on any day that you're there--they check your info, license, etc. But the main desk is the one that has the KTTW card. They'll let you know the hours of the DCL desk--we did ours one morning before going to the parks.

Thanks for the info. Does the kttw card you get at the resort desk also serve as your cabin key on the ship or do we get a second one at the DCL desk?

Our KTTW covered everything at WDW and on DCL.

Last June we checked in at the DCL desk, at the POLY, first. Then we checked in at the POLY desk. To us it was easier to have the whole family there together, with documents, and all checked in. It felt good to know that I did not have to make a point/time to go back and do this. Plus I must admit that I was anxious to "check in" with DCL and feel as if my cruise vacation had begun :cheer2: Once we received our KTTW card we went to Magic Kingdom and when we returned our luggage was waiting for us in our room
 gosh...I LOVE Disney

Yes, you just get one KTTW card for the whole trip--it's awesome!!!!! :cool1:

What time of the day you check in probably determines if you go to the DCL desk--I think the one at AKL was open from like 9 - 4, but different days sometimes had different hours. So when you check in, if you'd rather have everything taken care of, go ahead and go to DCL. We went in the morning and were in a hurry to get to the parks, so we just waited until later. Either way, it is the best setup in the world, and once you get to the ship you just walk on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :flower:

We checked in at the main check in for hte hotel and never checked in anyplace else...they took all our documents and checked ID's right then at the desk and that was it.

CBR only has the DCL desk open on certain days and times. We had added a day to our land portion so the desk wasn't even open when we checked in. We had to come back later. Just make sure you have your entire party when you check in at the DCL desk. THey won't check you in without everyone, even if you have everyone's docs. I found out this the hard way. :guilty:

Oh Cristit14..do you happen to know what days it is open at the CBR...thats where we are staying and have added extra days to our trip--we arrive on a Sunday--is it open that day??? Thanks in advance!!!!!

Can someone tell me how it is at POR. Back in 2000 we stayed at POFQ and all we did was check in at the main desk. They checked everything there and that was it. Never had to check in again any place else. We added days this time just like then. So did it change? Thanks

I just found the card we got at CBR for the DCL desk (not sure why I still have it). Unless it has changed since last summer these are the days and hours
Sunday and Thursday 8am-6pm
M, W, F 8am-noon
Sat 8am-1pm
Tuesday closed

I think we arrive on Wed afternoon and they were closed. Then on Thursday we were gone all day and didn't get a chance to get over there. My DD and I walked over there Friday morning (long walk from our room) to get signed up before we started our day and found out that DH and DS needed to be there too (not certain if DS had to be there, but DH did with his photo ID).
