Check in for family

We have a big family trip in November and I have booked 4 studios for everyone. When we check in, do I check everyone in? Or do they check in by room?

I was told I can't do online check in because I have multiple bookings over the next couple months.

You can only check in the room if you are listed on the reservation. Since you can only be listed in one room, the answer will be no. The first person arriving (who is listed on ressie) can check in, but they will also be responsible for putting the credit card on the room, if you are doing so. Sounds like a fun trip!
