Check In Details & Experience

Your PAT doesn’t mean anything when Disney is providing transportation. You could be there earlier or later. People on the same transport will all likely be given different PATs

I ran into this too. I had scanned all of our IDs and birth certificates at work but didn't think about it needing to be a JPG. It wasn't hard to convert all of them but at midnight I was rather tired so it took longer than normal lol
If using birth certificate instead of passport do they still require a picture?

yes. I believe you have to upload both during check in. Our check in was 2 days ago and some folks were having some issues with it, but actually we all had IT issues that night.

I had to upload our driver's licenses and also a selfie of each of us for the security verification at the port as well as the birth certificates. Obviously if your kids are under 16 they won't need the photo ID to go along with the birth certificate but you will still need to take a headshot and upload it.

I asked about the change in requiring we upload the documents ahead of time on the phone and I was told that it was to A) speed things up at the port and B) it's used as a reminder of what people will need to bring with them at the port. I guess there are quite a few people who show up without a passport or birth certificate and get turned away so this is to help limit that going forward.

When using DCL transfers from WDW or the airport, they set your PAT for you. Ours is set for 10:15 and we're staying at AKL the night before. Going to be a long morning and bus ride.

I'm flying in that day and using DCL transfer. The 30 day check in window is a moot point!? That makes my midnight check in self so happy. On one hand I'd love an early PAT to commence relaxing but I'm not going to stress over it.

Anyone sail concierge and know how PAT’s work for them? I would guess since we are first to board the ship we would have the 10am-10:15 window by default or another early time.
Also for the passport photo does it need to only be the page with all the info on it flat or what kind of photo do they need for it to work in their system.

We are doing Concierge this time and as far as PAT it just said arrive anytime and board when ready, there wasn't a set port arrival time. From what I have seen on youtube those in concierge are still in boarding group 1 if they are there when the port opens. I am just hoping the port transfer from the resort gets there early like it has been lately.

As for the passport I believe it is just the information page with the picture. You will also have to upload a separate "selfie" style picture too.

EDIT--here is a screenshot of what is shows in my check-in for PAT

That is awesome to hear, we are sailing out of Miami next month and we are just going to Uber from the hotel so we should have zero issue getting on asap thanks for the help!

French Quarter.
In my experience the transfers from WDW hotels will get you to the port after noon. Your assigned PAT does not impact that. If you want to get to the port at your assigned PAT you would most likely have to arrange private transportation.

i don’t care much either way. Earlier if good, later means a bit more sleep hopefully.

Have you sailed and used this transport since the restart of cruises? There have been multiple reports on this forum that resort pickups have been much earlier, in the 9 am range, since the restart.

That is what I am hearing as well. I've seen as early as 8:15 pickups at the first stops

Good data point. I have not sailed from FLA since the restart. Only from SD

Unfortunately it's been very inconsistent. There is a recent post from last week that stated they were picked up at 11am at a Disney resort even though they had a 10:30 PAT:

I think that was just the standard email they got from DCL stating the 11AM time and not the actual time. The actuals aren't put out by email, they are done through a letter under the door the night prior at the resort itself. At least I hope that is the case.

That's what I was thinking too, but then how would a guest know that they're being picked up a lot earlier if this is the letter they're receiving?
Edit: Never mind I didn't read your post thoroughly! They do get a letter!

If you read through that thread, the OP updated (post#9) that they were in fact picked up at 11am. At the port they were allowed to "move to the front of the line" but they still had a much later pick-up at the resort than expected. Whether that was something odd for that particular cruise or DCL transfers are shifting back to the later pick-up times remains to be seen.
