check in and magic bands

Im sure this has been asked and answered I just could not find it... We would like to be at RD on day 1, and our arrival time will be very tight, do we have to actually check in at resort before our magic bands are activated?
Also for parking?

1- For park entry, no.

2- For parking, yes.
