United just did schedule changes for October (on Friday Sept 4. I was expecting it to be done by Aug 31 or Sept 1). I thought I was ahead of the game since I changed flight times yesterday morning according to the new schedule. Then today I see they added flights, changed times again, and changed aircraft, so our seats were reassigned. I've had times change multiple times and I don't expect this to be the last.

Booked some October flights on United through Chase rewards, got an email last night that some legs were cancelled (not unexpected for us as the final destination in the Caribbean is still not accepting American tourists.) We have had changes happen with no notification as well sometimes.

Thanks for the heads up. Good to know where they are at. We have an early November flight I'm on pins and needles with, I noticed they scaled down their September schedule from our airport quite a bit.

The daily flights I was watching (EWR-MCO) went from 10 to 5. They started cancelling/changing the flights Friday morning (Sept 4) around 6am and I thought they were done by late morning so I switched flights with the free change offer. I looked again the next morning and they had switched aircraft and changed times again, so I made another free change and chose other seats on the switched plane.

Later in the day I noticed that the more popular early morning flights to Disney went up in price and miles required. Something to think about, as changes are free but you have to pay any difference in price. I would argue the point if they actually cancelled my flight or changed the aircraft but I made my changes before the price increases. Not all flights went up in price, it was the more popular times. Planes still look mostly empty.

Glad you got in your change before the price increase!
Thanks! Ours is a 12:30 p.m. flight with currently 5 direct flights that day all at the same price. September and October dropped down to two direct flights a day (at different times than originally stated) for the DC area and the prices all actually went down or stayed the same for most of October. I fully expect our flight will be canceled, but I think I'll wait until they do cancel it and then try to move to whatever morning flight they offer (I was hoping for an earlier flight anyway lol).
