We are planning a trip this july 2 - 8. I called my aaa agent and got a quote of $3278.73 for a woods view and the wilderness lodge non smoking upper floor and bunk beds is this a good price???

It includes hotel ,tickets (no hopper) and dining. We dont want to have to worry about money on food when we get there.

Not knowing how many people there are, I come up with the following prices:

WL Wood's View for 6 nights @ Rack Rate - $1839.75
Park Tickets (2 Adults/1 Child) - $640.00 (and these prices DO include hopping)
Dining Plan (2 Adults/1 Child) - $360 (I'm doing $40/day for adult, $20 for child, I think that's close to what it costs)

Total if your party is 2 Adults/1 Child - $2839.75, quite a bit below your AAA quote

If you have 2 children (making a party of 4), I estimate the rack rate cost at $3147.75. That's still less than your quote, AND with the addition of Hopping to your tickets!

Let me know if I've done anything wrong with the above...I can't believe that it appears you aren't getting ANY discount with the package you were quoted!

You might do better with just a AAA room-only discount, which would give you probably 10% off the room. But, then you wouldn't be eligible for the dining plan.

Please keep in mind that upper floor, and bunk beds are NOT guaranteed but just a request
Don't want you to be disappointed if you do not get them

Don't forget that if you rent points from a DVC member, you can get the dining plan as of April 2006. SHould be cheaper.

I thought as of January you could specifically book a bunkbed room, like the MK view at CR. I may be wrong though.

We are going from February 12 - 19th so value season. The price I got for 2 kids with 7 day Park Hoppers and MYW dining was around $3100. It saved us 15% off the room. This was for a woodsview room and I did request bunkbeds. The price you got sounds about right.

I checked the disney website, the rack rate, with the 7 day non hopper passes and 2 adults and 2 children, at the WL, woodsview with the dining plan comes to $3400.42 including taxes. So your quote of 3278.73 is a savings of $121.69.

Do you realize the season changes to "value" on deluxe resorts after July 4? If you do 2 separate ressies you can get the lower rate for the last half of the trip. Otherwise the rate stays the same for your whole stay as whatever it is the day you check in. Just a thought.

Can you send me a PM or direct me to a thread to learn more about this?? Thanks!

Ok, I can breathe now. The title of this thread had me thinking that there was some kind of special or code released today.

Where can I find the information about the dining plan for purchase with DVC rentals? I went to the rental/point site but saw no link. Thanks!
