Cheaptickets has increased their promo code from 18% to 20%. Check their home page. It works on Royal Pacific; I didn't check any other Universal hotels.

thank you for posting this! I was able to rebook and save 5% more. May not seem like a lot but every bit helps :thumbsup2 Also I did not check HRH but PBH was included with the 20%

I did the same, although it was only 2% more than my last code. It was worth spending a few minutes on the phone to pay for another meal down there!

Thanks so much for posting! Somehow I missed the code entirely for our HRH stay. Saved almost $150!

The code seems to be good through September 30.

Well, I finally went ahead and cancelled my AAA rate for RPR and went with this. Saved me about $60. over 2 nights - a decent dinner. I don't normally like to book a hotel with a 3rd party, but Cheaptickets seems to be very reputable. Just hope we don't get assigned the worst room. :headache: I will still keep watching for AP rates.

Hi! If it makes you feel any better, I called Royal Pacific this morning to add my room requests. They had my reservation (which I booked through CheapTickets), and it was all fine...two rooms, one under my name one under my husband's name, right dates, etc. I had put my room requests in through CheapTickets but said I wanted to request connecting rooms (to the FRONT DESK rep at Royal Pacific), and also asked if I could also request Tower 1. She noted it and said that they are a family friendly resort and they always try their best to acommodate connecting rooms. Hope that makes you feel better!

And if you are calling with any room requests, ask for the Front Desk...if you tell the operator who first answers that you want to put room requests in, they send you to Reservations, who couldn't find the reservation (cause it was booked through a third party) and told me that I needed the Front Desk. But the Front Desk had my reservation and entered my room request just fine.

Thanks for the info. I do trust Cheaptickets since they are a subsidiary of Orbitz, but I remember years ago using Priceline for a hotel room . . . and it just wasn't worth getting the crappy room and unresponsive customer service to save a few bucks. I know this is different from Priceline, though. I do appreciate your follow up advice. :flower3:

Years and years and years ago, when Internet travel was new, I booked our off site Disney hotel through some now-unknown company. When we got to the hotel, tired with two little kids...they didn't have a room for us and couldn't accommodate us. It was awful. They put us in another of their hotels further away and paid for the taxi, and that was it. I didn't book online for about 10 years after that! I'm glad that Internet booking has become more mainstream and reliable now!

How does it work with the cheaptickets code? We are in the UK so have never used them before but when I've plugged in my dates we would save over $500 on the SMSM rate for our 7 nights. I've read somewhere that I should just put 2 adults and then call the HRH to add the 2 children later or they will charge extra for the kids? In the UK the rate you are quoted always includes taxes and fees. Would we be charged anything else at the resort apart from parking (just want to make sure its a genuine $500 saving)?

From everything I have read, you are correct...book the adults and add the kids later. The Cheaptickets does include taxes and fees, and not parking. I'm going to call and add my kids tomorrow, I can post an update if you want to wait and see! This is my first Cheaptickets booking but so far, so good. I have even cancelled one and made another from when their discount went to 18% from 15% and that was all smooth.

When you book through Cheaptickets, Cheaptickets provides you with both a Cheaptickets confirmation number and a hotel confirmation number. You use the hotel confirmation number...I booked through CheapTickets and reservations had no problem finding the reservation with the hotel confirmation number provided by CheapTickets.

Hope you have a wonderful trip. I am less than 30 days out! Looking forward to it!!

easy to use.
you do have to pay for the entire reservation stay in advance.

if your kids are 17 and under, no problem adding them when you check in.

room allows for 2 adults, 3 kids without any additional charges.
$25 per night additional charge when you have a 18 and up child with you.
extra charges occur when you have more than 3 adults in the room.

Thanks for the responses. I have cancelled with UO direct and re-booked with this code. With a $500 saving I'm very happy :D

don't you love to save money and still get the stay that you want!

Most definitely. This will be our longest stay in UOR and I can't wait. The most we have done in the past is 3 nights and it feels so rushed and pool time feels like a waste but with 7 nights we will be able to relax and enjoy it so much more.

is that 20% combined with the 35% smsm discount?

i only went with the smsm as it was a 35% discount once booked at the 7 night stay.
i've got a 13 night stay
can you stack with the cheap ticket somehow?

i'm all ears on learning something new for getting a higher discount.

What phone number did you call, if you don't mind me asking? I need to do the same thing with connecting rooms. Thanks!

It certainly appears to be. We had a 2Q CL room booked at a rate of $379 per night with the SMSM rate. When I put it into cheaptickets it came up with the same price as we had booked direct. When I put the code in it took a straight $500 off the cost so it's coming out at $308 per night which is close enough to an extra 20% discount on top of the SMSM rate.
