Cheapest welcome dinner menu?

I am thinking of having our welcome dinner at Sago Cay or the Summerhouse. What is the cheapest dinner menu Disney would do? I am thinking really casual. Maybe BBQ or something? Do you think it could be done for around $35 per person?

For my tea party I am just having salad, soup, and sandwiches and it cost $40 a person. So you may not get to have lots of things to choose from but if you talk to your wedding planning I am sure they can help you. I think as long as you met the F&B minimum for your location you can try and make a menu that is cheap. One room to look at is the key west room it has a F&B minimum of $500 for lunch might be a bit higher for dinner.

Thanks but my problem is that I have a reservation at Ohana for 25 but now we are having 30 people at I can't get the reservation changed. Ugh! I am trying to come up some alternatives in the same price range.

We're hoping to do exactly what you suggested and have reserved the Summerhouse. I know Disney has a BBQ Rehearsal Dinner menu that is $48 per person but I'm going to ask if there is a way to reduce the cost by taking out a few things. I have my PS in a few weeks, so I can let you know when I get back.

Thanks for the info! I can work down $48 I hope! I am waiting to hear back from my planner so I will see what I can work out.

As long as you meet the overall food and beverage minimum for the site, you can customize your menu to cost whatever you want it to. Of course, as a previous poster pointed out, with Disney prices, you may not get a whole lot, but how much could hamburgers and hot dogs cost?

We did a breakfast instead of a dinner. We did the Cape May Cafe for breakfast after our morning rehearsal. The buffet breakfasts are all under $20.00 (Boma, Cape May Cafe and 'Ohana) and you do not have to worry about drinks. We were thinking 'Ohana for dinner but did not want to tell anyone to not order drinks (their special drinks are probably over $12.00 each).

Cape May breakfast was great - we had 22 people - and they gave us a private room - and we had the characters come in and out of the room for pictures.

I will second Cape May. The food is good and the buffet prices even at dinner aren't very expensive.

hmm thats strange. I changed my ohana reservation from 30 to 33 no problem a couple days before. ever think about just showing up with 30 and saying that you left a message about changing it and never heard back so you assumed it was okay. i am sure they would accomodate you. i know it sounds horrible but...desperate times
