Cheapest way to get gallons of water to resort

I loathe hotel water. And I drink water exclusively. I do not like any additives in it, I just like plain old water.

Last trip I had a car so I was able to buy a couple of the 2.5 gallon countertop containers of water and refill my stainless steel water bottles with that. This year I'm flying and not planning on renting a car.

What is the best way to get water by the gallon to my resort room?

I prefer not to get the individual bottles because of the environmental impact. I realize I can get free water at any QS in the parks, but even so I need to be able to drink water in my room. I am not planning on using DDP and won't have the resort mug.

So, is it garden grocer? Is it amazon? Is it Target? (I will not do business with Walmart). Are gallons available on site for purchase?

To add to the burden, I'm staying at the Contemporary, so I will be charged for any packages delivered to me.

Would that apply to a garden grocer delivery as well?

Thank you all!!

You can use any cup to get free water from the soda fountains in the resort CS eatery, you don't need a refillable mug. I'd take a large covered cup with you and fill it at the soda fountain water dispenser and take back to your room.

How about bringing a Brita or Pur pitcher? I have taken one in my luggage when on a trip. Waaaay cheaper than bottled water. Even if you had one sent to your hotel, I would think it'd be less than actually buying water the same way.

We ordered water from Staples and because I am a rewards card member I got free shipping. Now these were cases of water.....not sure if they have the counter top type.

Thats a really good idea! I feel kind dumb for not thinking of that. :p

This is my fall back position! I'm bringing a pitcher this time to see if it filters adequately. But, I don't want to rely on this if it doesn't, and have to be stuck buying bottled water on site at those prices.

Staples! I wouldn't have thought of them, but that's a great idea. I don't necessarily need the countertop kind, just a regular gallon would be fine.

It's hard to get the pitchers under the sink faucet, just an FYI.

The city Lynx bus does go from Disney to walmart. Might be worthwhile to make a run to walmart and get what ever you need. I would not worry about the liter bottles. Disney does a very good job of recycling. You could always get a filter water bottle. Then you can fill it up at any location around Disney. Not very expensive, $9 at walmart including a filter.

We used to order from Costco but now there is a problem on their site with the shipping addresses. I think some resorts will plug in correctly but others won't. Yes the Staples site was perfect.

Actually, the Contemporary sells gallons of water in their gift shop (the small one next to the arcade. I'm sorry, I don't remember the pricing - but I do remember us being pleasantly surprised at the cost. we also found the gallons at Old Key West.

We too have bought gallons of water at the resort and it really was not too expensive. Easy easy easy!!

I would bring an empty large water jug (sports jug type) and then fill it at the drink stations at the CS place in your resort. That is already-filtered water. Then you can keep this in your room and just refill cups or bottles as you wish and then refill the jug again when desired.

I use a Brita water bottle. Works great if the pitcher is too large to pack for you.

Keep in mind since you are staying at the Contemporary and it is a convention resort that there is an additional delivery charge of $10 for all items delivered to a convention resort.

All items shipped to a convention resort are processed by a third party company that is onsite at the resort and they charge a $10 handling fee.

If it were me what we do is take a duffle bag and ride over to DTD get off the bus and walk across the street. We buy pop and water and put it in the duffle then walk back across the street and hop on our resort bus. Done!

Or for you, you can take a cab to the Hess station by MK and get your water.

We usually couple this trip with lunch. we love the pizza at the Hess station so we always grab a slice and eat it before buying our water. It the cheapest lunch you can get at Disney.

We are actually thinking of doing this. We usually drive down and have our water and snacks already packed in the car. We are flying in this time and are not renting a car, so we will be reyling on Disney transportation the entire time. So it is not too much of a distance to walk over to the Hess station across from DTD? We plan on going to DTD our first night so figured if the Hess station is close we can just stop in and pick up a case of bottled water. Hubby's a pretty fit guy but still don't want to make him schlep a case of water for too far.
