Hi all
While since I posted on here!
Looking to go to DLP next year probably for me, the OH and the small person (who will be 5) but want to know hints and tips on the cheapest way to get the best deal. Due to the small one being at school and me working in a school we can only go in holiday times (which is expensive already) so just looking for ideas. It'll be my 5th time of going but their first times so would like to make it as special for them as possible!
(Oh and also trying to save a house deposit currently so money is really tight!)
Any help much appreciated [=

Keep an eye on the DLP site as there are usually offers of one sort or another, if there's a good offer on another country's site it's fine to book through that as everything comes by email.

Consider staying in one of the offsite hotels ie Explorers, Kyriad, Magic Circus etc or a little further afield at Val d'Europe, only one stop away on the train. You'll need to buy park tickets if you stay offsite so if you think you'll be going back the following year buy annual passes so you can get two trips out of them ..... although this can end up being rather expensive as you feel very tempted to go multiple times in a year! :rotfl:

Not sure how you travel to DLP, if it's Eurostar then the cheapest prices are always as tickets are released, if you're flying it may be worth waiting to see if there is a sale ..... although we use Flybe from Southampton (also tied to school holidays) and always found it cheapest to book asap as the only way the prices went were up.

I'm in a similar position - I too work in a school and can only have school holidays and prices are so expensive then. I have to fly as I'm from Manchester and would have to travel to London first before getting the Eurostar (I so wish it would run direct from Manchester).

If anyone has any ideas of how to make DLP cheaper then I'm all ears (Mickey's of course - ;) )

We are going October half term on site prices are way more than I wanted to pay ever :scared1:.
Of you wish to visit twice in a year you would better off get a AP and staying off site

Here the benefits of AP.
Book hotel cheap on
http://www.travelrepublic.co.uk/
Or similar
Do you have kids ?
Get a family railcard book train 12 weeks before travel to get the best deal
Eurostar you can always go indirect cheap one simple change at Lille.
We stay in a travelodge in london before and after Eurostar no stress about missing train link and you can pick a travelodge room up cheap even in london
We have the day down there before our trip it's a great way to start the holiday.
If I can be any help just ask

If you consider driving to DLP and happen to collect Tesco points you can get the Channel Tunnel crossing for "free" and have the advantage of a car to take a supply of cooking ingredients to use in one of the many nearby aparthotels where you can self cater and save on expensive meals out. In any case there is a large Auchan supermarket in Val d'Europe and many others around and about. Buying APs would probably be the best option for tickets if staying offsite. Not sure if all passes give the free parking at DLP but the Dream certainly does.

For the first time we're staying offsite, just me and Liam.
I booked flights as soon as they were released by easyjet.
Booked the Kyriad through Travel Republic again booked early, our room is already £100 more expensive than when i booked in april have to get us dream ap's but even so i saved over £800 on dlp package price for the same hotel.

May half term is usually the same as off peak prices due to it being the only UK School holiday that doesn't also coincide with another European one.

We got a great deal the year before last for that week. That was also our first trip driving which helped the budget too. It wasn't as complicated as I thought and we were there by 10:30 getting an early shuttle on the euro tunnel. Think it was £89 for a return crossing. Even with fuel and European roadside assistance, it still worked our far cheaper than flying/Eurostar during school holidays.

If you want a very cheap DLP holiday - Catch the Mega Bus coach from London Victoria to Paris, it takes 10 hours and they run an over night service too and can be booked from just £1 if you book far enough in advance. Then the train from Paris to DLP costs about 4 euros.

Then stay in a budget hotel in Val d'Europe for about £30 per night and buy annual passes.

Thanks guys! Might have a look for tickets for May time next year (will give me a little longer to save up also!) How far in advance do tickets get released?
I'd like to stay in park this time (as it's thier first Disney experience) however for future trips (hopefully there will be several!) I wouldn't mind staying offsite to save some money!
Any more ideas greatly appreciated still [=

If you think you might get two trips to DLP in one year, even staying onsite first time it may be worth your while looking at Annual Passes for any extra adults or paying children (ie over and above the first adult and any children under 7 in your party). This way you can book a discount package for one of the onsite hotels for one adult and free kids, get park tickets included for them, and then you can add the others in your party at check-in, at no extra cost (apart from around 2 euros per night in local tax for the extra guests). The extra guests would have annual passes for park tickets, and they would be able to use their AP discounts for the whole party for restaurant and shop purchases :).

We always drive, the cheapest trip has been renting a static caravan in the summer about 20 mins from the park, that was £400 for the week, we bought dream ap's through ce Multi, we paid for the tunnel with clubcard points and stayed for a week for a proper holiday. We've stayed in Marriott and rented a private house too in the past but the caravan was definitely cheapest holiday and most repeatable! Enjoy!
