Looking to go next October. 6 adults. 2 couples and 2 singles. Where would be the best/cheapest on site resort to stay in?

It really depends on what configuration of rooms/bedding you are looking for. Cheapest option would be 2 rooms at a value (2 couples and a single per room). Second cheapest would be 3 value rooms or a family suite at AoA or ASMu. Close third would be two rooms at a mod.

Have you considered renting DVC points? I personally think this is a great way to go;) We are a family of 7 and rent the points to stay in a Deluxe Villa. You'll have a full kitchen....You could either fit in a 2 bedroom or 3 bedroom, depending on how your sleeping arrangments would be. A two bedroom has a sofa sleeper in the living room, one bedroom has two queen size beds and the master has one king(I think it's a king). There's quit a difference in price between the 2 to 3 bedroom so if it would work then I'd say go with the two bedroom, if you decide to rent points:) There's a lot of great info on these boards about renting DVC points.

I'd check out the cost of the Fort Wilderness Cabins and compare to two rooms at a Value resort.
Bedroom has full size bed and bunks, main room has a murphy bed. Sleeps 6.

some 2-bedroom don't have the 2 queen beds - they have a queen bed and a double sleeping sofa.

only OKW has 2 queen beds in the studio part (second bedroom) - the other can and do vary.

BLT, AKV and OKW also have a chair bed in the living area as well as the queen sleeping sofa.

the problem with going on a friend trip and DVC - who get the master bedroom if everyone is paying the same price....

the master bath has a whirlpool tub and showder stall. the other bathroom is just a combination.

now BLT and AKV has another bathroom - so a 2-bedroom would have 3 bathrooms.

that say if you are doing budget would go with the value 2 rooms - if everyone can get along.

if you want more room would go with 2 studios at OKW - you get 2 queen beds in each unit and a much bigger bathroom. plus these have a kitchennette - so cooking is allowed.

if you go with OKW or any DVC - rent from a member - it is much, much cheaper. - there is a rental site here
