What is the cheapest way to book vacation? I usually use the Disney website but would a travel agent be cheaper. I won't be making them for a few more months because we are going again in Jan 2009.

I have tickets from one of our other trips in Nov 05 that we have extra days left. We only have my husband's card. Will they be able to look up all members of the party by using that one card? I want to get them to combine them when we go. I have been told that has to be done in person.

I am just trying to see if AI make reservations other ways if I can save money.

Hi Shannon,
I usually do all the research myself... a few times I went thru travel agents and I noticed I had to ask about the deals when I was purchasing it thru them... There is a great travel agent online called dreams unlimited... they usually do a great job in finding out specials and will even help you book ur adr's... Since ur trip is not for some time DU will look up every possible discount for u until the time of ur trip so u dont have to...

Hope this helped & either way u book it I am sure it will be a blast!

We've been to WDW 39 times and never used an agent, just for the reason of being in control of our own reservations. We've ran the numbers alot of times, and how we like to do Disney, that said, we never book packages. We've found that you get alot of add ons that you pay for and never get to use. We rather do our dining as we go, no DDP, we don't like ADR's, don't want to be tied to a clock to be here or there. Same for passes, we usually have AP's, no add ons but if we feel like doing a water park, we'll pay out of pocket. Last 5 trips we never had any time to do one a whole day so a prepaid add on would have been wasted.

We book directly through CRO, room only, either apply an AP or AAA discount, always go value season, and dine as we please. We've checked with DU and its usually close to a few dollars either way but we stick with CRO, any info we need is just a phone call away, no e-mails or agents on vacation, we can check our reservations on line, we never book on-line, to see whats what. It's all sort of pay as you go and we don't get stuck with unused tickets or food credits that you do pay for up front in packages.

I second Pepe of Ohio's comments. I've been to WDW 8 times since 1999 with at least two trips planned for 2008. I've never booked through an agent. I call CRO (get the 1-800 number) and book direct. This year I'm using the AP discount because I have so many trips planned...other times I use AAA...again, I always go value season or regular. Not only are prices lower but crowds too.

I love ADRs and book them myself. It's not hard at all. I also always by a 10 day ticket. I add the no expiration and park hopping option. Buying a longer stay saves you money in the long run. I buy tickets whenever I have extra funds. I just put them in my safe deposit box and I'm ready to go without having to worry about that expense. They don't expire and I save the inevitable each year price increase.

Hey, great idea, never thought of that, if we're planning multiple trips in one year, we buy AP's but having a few multiple tickets in a safety deposit box is a cool idea for those spur of the moment trips, with rising prices and all, thanks.
