Does anyone know the cheapest rate I could get for one of the onsite hotels from 3/29 to 4/2? (4 nights)

We really only want to stay onsite for the FOTL pass.

We are a family of four who make a modest income and we have decided to
splurge so we could get on more rides than the last time we did.

Now before you say anything, we know we chose a bad week, we understand it will be busy which is another reason for wanted FOTL.

We dont want to use the "come back at a certain time" pass.

After all this we looked up and found that it looks like with no discounts (we arent members of anything) it will cost us upwards of $1200.

Now we realize we are saving the price on parking (about $30) and we already have 3 day park passes for all of us.

I understand to some, its all about the staying on site experience but we just want front of the line...we could care less where we stay.

Can someone help or point us in the right direction? Any discounts we could get? Any memberships to join to get a discount that would make it worth it?
Thanks.

in chgo area AAA costs $54 a year for membership.

i am saving $76 by booking at rph with the AAA per night.
also the loews first card is giving me the free upgrade to a water view.

that is the total i am saving per night.
AAA gives me a total savings of $47 + tax per night
Loews card gives me a savings from standard room to water view each night.(27$)

the wv standard is $259 per night plus tax.
i am paying $183.20 per night plus tax.

AAA is worth it. for what i pay for one year membership, i save more in the lower room rate. and, you get 10% off food and merch in the parks with the AAA.

Are you a Loews member.

I've saved an extra $10.00 over the AAA rate.

They are having a "winterwonderloews" special.

Good Luck

MACRAVEN - Which AAA membership do you have? Basic? Plus or Premier?

Basic is cheap and worth it if I can get the discount with it.

Scratch42 - I joined the Lowes yesterday and the front page says $169 a night for Royal Pacific but when I go to book the cheapest I can find is $212

i have the basic. that is all that is needed to get the discounts.

Another question....and thank you for being so helpful Macraven..... once I become a AAA member, how do I get the discount? Is there a link through the AAA website? or through Universal? or do I have to call? Scratch42 said I could get both lowes and AAA discounts...do you know if I would have to call to get them?

Thanks again for all you help.

This is a very informative forum and without it we would have never known about FOTL...I cant wait to go...I will feel like such a VIP!!

you can call your AAA agent and have them set it all up for you.
i tried that once. my agent is stupid and i knew more than her, i thought i would try something different for once but it backfired.

you can get the aaa discounts by going thru the AAA website/travel agent at AAA, loews website, universal website or by calling universal vacations.

i always check the rates on the websites of universal and loews.
then i call on the toll free numbers to make the ressie. i tell the emloyee that i want the AAA discount. i am then told to take the AAA card with me for verification when i check in.

if you go to the websites, put AAA in the promotion box to get the rate for the discount

if you have made the ressie for the hotel already and just now are getting AAA, all you have to do is call universal and tell them to modify your existing ressies to reflect the new discounted rate.

just reread your post.

go to loewsfirst.com and sign up for the free loews card that they offer.

you start out on blue then gold then platinum based on the # of nights stayed at a loews per year.

if you are going soon and don't have theloews card, call the number listed on that site and they will give you your number over the phone.

any preference changes can be made at the front desk when you sign in.
you list the preferences on line when you sign up.

the loews first program is free
yes, you can use loews and AAA at the same time

Macraven,

I signed up for the lowesfirst membership last night and received a confirmation email with a member # almost instantly. Is this the number you are talking about?
Also, will the hotel quote me a price for Lowes + AAA discounts if I dont already have my AAA membership? I mean will they ask me to verfiy that I am a AAA member before quoting me a discounted rate?

Sorry to be such a pain.

Thanks

you have the confirmation for the loews blue card. the card will be mailed out to you. use that card for the free upgrade at the hotel and free welcome gift

AAA, you can book the room w/aaa , have it or not, but must have the card when you check in to the hotel.

go to the universal hotel website.
put in AAA in the promotional box, this is the top one on the left.

when you submit, you will see the costs for that hotel for the time period you indicated. that is how you can see what the aaa rates will be.

you don't have to book by telephone, you can book your room on line.

I just booked the RPR for $149 a night for that same week. I bougt one annual pass so that I could get the discount. We are staying 5 nights so it worked out to be a great deal. You also get a discount on food and merchandise with the annual pass. You might want to check it out.

TMEYER - whats an annual pass? an annual pass for what? I already bought my ride tickets.

An annual pass costs about $180 but gives you big room discounts and 20% discounts on food and merchandise in the parks. You can usually upgrade a ticket to an annual pass if the difference in hotel prices make it worth your while.
