Hi Everyone. We just decided that we are going to drive (sigh) to WDW this July. It will be a super budget trip. I already have some left over passes from our previous trip, and I have also asked friends/relatives to buy us US funds gift certificates to various restaurants (Red Lobster, McD's) whenever they are in the US. But, now I am left with the lodging problem. We plan on doing Priceline as we have done in the past, but I need a backup plan. I am scared to plan on Priceline (which we will do closer to our trip) and not be able to get something. So, I need help. I am interested in hearing everyone's hotel deals and how they got them. Thanks!

If you don't mind the No frills approach-----Try Magic Castle Inn and Suites

www.magicorlando.com

We stayed at the one 3.5 miles to WDW in October (we were on the tightest of budgets)

It was only $29 a night and we got the Suite.

They have a fridge in each room (it's pretty large) and in the suites there is also a microwave.

Oh there is a coffee maker too and blow dryers.
There was a free breakfast every morning that had english muffins, toast, cereal, bagels, juice, milk and KRISPY KREEME donuts.....yummmmmm.

It was clean and the people were nice.

I'm trying to scan some phots I took of it but my scanner doesn't want to work with windowsXP. I could send them to you if you would like once I get it fixed.

Also, let me know if I can do anything else.

Sammi from this board has stayed there too so it looks like a good spot for Canadians.

Also try www.orlandokissimmee.com and look f...r deals... Hope you have a blast Samantha

I know you did not ask specifically, but if really worried about budget, I'd go to CCA and get USF tickets at par...... The difference is huge. I think 3-days at par is $33 cdn per day vs. $60/$75 for WDW. Do 3 days USF/IOA and 2 days WDW, stay at a nicer hotel or timeshare (we're staying at Orange Lake with a 2 br for $299 US for a week) and use their amenities.

Go to a timeshare presentation for SW tickets (our kids loved it there). Lot's to do, still have WDW and save big dollars.....

Sorry I meant CAA not CCA.... I find the WDW ticket prices ridiculously high when converted.....

Hi Bea! We stayed at the Magic Castle Inns during our last trip, 15 months ago before and after staying with my cousins at their timeshare at Cypress Pointe we stayed at the Magic Castle for a total of 6 days and we were very impressed with the hotel.:)

It is a "no frills" type of place but very clean and the staff were always polite and helpful. We also paid $29.00 US a night (went in Nov/Dec) and the bonus especially if you have kids has got to be the breakfast at no charge. As PhotobearSam said you have plenty of fruit, cerel, bagles, toast and donuts...milk,juice coffee etc.

As we were busy every day at the parks we really only needed a clean place to sleep and then up and away the next day! Do take note though, that the outdoor pool is not heated so depending on when you go down that might not suit you. Good luck in whatever you decide! :sunny:

Hi Everyone. Just wanted to let you know that I got a rate of $35.00 at the Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista. It is a 3 star hotel and seems to have all the ammenities. It is a great rate for the month of July. I will keep this reservation until closer to our date and then try Priceline. Thanks for all your help.
