We rented a car in Orlando and left it at the rental office at Port Canaveral (a shuttle took us to port). Way less than $270.

budget rental car always was the cheapest for a small car. Avis ended up being cheapest the last time. Only at the very last minute.

Try dollar with corporate code BJ5013. It's a BJ's code but I don't know if they'll ask for proof. If anyone has a cheaper company/code, do tell.

We have always used Budget to go and drop off at their Port Canaveral office on astronaut drive.

We do a one way from MCO (use DME to get to airport) and then rent a car for just four hours. It only takes about 1.5 hours but I give myself time. Anyways I always use Budget with BCD code S238400 and get a really good price. Just looked up this code for a random date in January and it was 23.00 rental. The BJ's code was slightly more. I have been using this code for YEARS, same code, never need any proof of anything and I only remember I got it off Mousesavers.

The key is to just rent one way for the day and then take the shuttle from Budget to the port. Easy but of course you have to go to the airport to get the rental, then drive to the Port Canaveral Rental place and then take their shuttle. You could use this code for one of the Budget rental agencies around the BWV resort and it will still be reasonable (around $45 vs. the $23 at the Maingate Budget place). They say they will pick you up to get your car so that might be worth the extra money. Anyway doing two rentals, each one way won't come anywhere close to the cost of the town car. Good luck!
