Cheaper tickets by donating money to Children Hospital.

For my trip coming up I needed a 2 day ticket for my DD and 1 day tickets for me and DS because I had some leftover from another trip at home.
After much searching i found out (from mousesavers.com) that a donation to the Walt Disney Pavilion at the Florida Hospital will get tickets as a thank you gift.
It also worked out about $20 cheaper for me.
I donated $330!! and as a thank you I will get 4 one day tickets, $40 gift card to Planet Hollywood, $50 gift certificate to the spa at the GF and some gift card for the Richard Petty Driving Experience.

This is why I love this forum, I never knew that you could donate and get tickets. If you were only needed 1 day this is perfect! You get to do something good and go to the parks. Love it!

These tickets are a win-win for the hospital and the donor. But be aware that the tickets have expiration dates and they cannot be upgraded. If you're only looking for one or two days of admission and you're going before the deadline, it's a great deal!

Yes, according the Foundation's website, only the 4 one day park tickets have 12/31/12 expiration dates. All the other items had 12/31/11 expiration dates.

If you only need one or two days worth of tickets, and you are not park hopping, this can be a good deal.

However, the tickets cannot be upgraded or modified in any way, so if you need longer-duration tickets it is not a good deal.

And as stated, the tickets do have expiration dates which Disney will not extend.

Not only does the money go to a good cause but the office that administers the program is extremely friendly. We've needed extra tickets two years in a row and I always get there there. I was told that if you don't want to pay for shipping you can get them at the Hospital Gift Shop in Celebration. I would check to see if this is still true but if you are staying nearby or are in a hurry this might be useful info!

Our son got very ill on our trip in August of 2010 and we were eventually sent by ambulance to this hospital. The care and facilities were top notch and I will always be very grateful to the staff there.
