You misunderstand. If yo go to their site, with no promo codes, you will get a discount, often its greater than
AAA rate, its usually about 15 percent. So, this sites 15 percent discount isnt a discount at all. You dont need any information. You dont need a code, the "codes" they advertise are basically making you think you get a deal, but you dont. The entertainment book one is a deal though, the rest aren't really. Dell does the same thing, they offer 20 percent discounts when they change prices and if you look at the pricing history the discount saves no money as the price adjusts up and down depending on the price.
Anyone can go to hojos site and get a "discount". You get it if you phone too, you get it if you go to the desk in person. Its not a discount at all. It makes you think oh wow Im saving 90 dollars, I should book here. You're saving nothing, because no one pays rack, there is no rack in effect.
We've had different experiences.
I've had AAA for about 20 years now, and I know full well that sometimes, the rooms set aside for AAA holders are NOT the best deal. No matter what site I'm looking on, from Super8 to Westin, I check out their best available rates and compare them to AAA. The further out I book, the better the AAA rate is. If I'm booking close in, that AAA membership rate is cruddy.
I've never seen a discount just for going to HoJo's site. They have the guaranteed Best Available Rate, which means they aren't going to show you a huge price if they have a better one available. Kind of them, vs Westin/Starwood which will generally list the higher prices first unless you change the view to lower cost first.
I just did it for January 19-21 at HoJo.

And the discussion board shows that those dates have entertainment rates available, but I can't make it work online. But assuming you called, you can see how great those are, even you have an AP and/or AAA card, and especially compared to the Best Available.
I always forget to wrap up my thoughts. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who just blindly think that the AAA rate is the best they can do, and don't ever check to see what the regular rooms are priced at. Some people believe too strongly in the AAA discount.

And some people really don't care about a discount; my brother won't work to get a discount. He doesn't need to, and if it's too much work for him, it's not worth it to him. So there will always be someone paying the highest rate they have. But that isn't a false discount, because someone IS going to be paying that.
But hey, I've stayed at Anabella and liked it. Didn't recommend it here b/c the OP wanted under 100, and when we stayed there I think it was right about at that rate.
I cannot recommend the Carousel, though!
