So I am in need of some assistance Disneyland fans! I need to find the cheapest hotel possible for march 7-10..preferably walking distance to DL. any suggestions? I mean as little $$ as possible, although I don't want to fear for my life by any means!

Thanks in advance!

I've seen some rooms come up for around $35 or so on expedia and travelocity, but not any I would stay in. I always go with Carousel Inn, Tropicana Inn, Howard Johnsons or Desert Inn (in that order). I can usually get a room at one of these for $49 with an entertainment or AAA discount. All of these hotels are right across the street from the main entrance, with Howard Johnsons being the farthest at a 12-15 min walk.

I don't HoJo is quite that far. Last trip we were walking with Grandpa, Grandma and a stroller and it was only 10 minutes. Just me and dd do it in less. It's maybe two blocks to the crosswalk.

About 2 blocks away, maybe a 20 minute walk (down Katella) is a Extended Stay America with rooms for about $43 per night (cheaper for weekly or monthly usage). Also comes with a furnished kitchen (mid-size fridge, 2 burner stove, microwave, coffee maker, kitchen cooking & eating utensils) to save on breakfast costs. Not many other amenities however.

Here is a thread on the HoJo with some nice pictures.

We've also stayed at the Ramada Maingate, which you can see here . I think it's a bit more expensive that the others listed so far, probably about $60 a night, but it's right across the street from DL.

Best Western Park Place Inn is right literally across the street, at the Harbor Boulevard Park entrance. You can't get any closer. I have paid as little as $58 per night and at most $110.

I've been researching this also. The Days inn Maingate /convention center had all good reviews on Travelocity and tripadvisor. We haven't stayed yet but our res. is for $69.00 a night.
I have stayed at the Annabella and if you can get a good rate it is very nice.

I like Best Western Park Place Inn, Hojo's & Tropicana, for walking distance in that order. BUT, I haven't stayed at Candy Cane or Park Inn(JULY!!) yet so that's always subject to change ;)

I've gotten Tropicana for $50 a night! There's a small fridge and microwave and a light breakfast.

Hey Mary Jo - can you make your next hotel/photo visit the Best Western Park Place? Would love to see 'real' photos and one of your wonderful reports!
