I am sure it has been asked over and over again so sorry.

We can get a great rate at the D/S for my husband who works at the school district but what about getting to the hotel and back?

We love the ME as we don't have to get luggage, haul it around and worry about the toddler, but the rates at the D/S are what we are paying for our room at POFQ.

What is the cheapest way to get to D/S and back with luggage and a toddler? :Pinkbounc

Cheapest is Mears shuttle, $30.00 rt $18.00 one way, IIRC children 3 and under are free but I don't know the child price offhand.

I am staying at the Dolpin in September and hiring a towncar. For about $120.00 +/- plus tip depending on the company you can have personal service, help with luggage a carseat if you need one and even a complimentary grocery stop. With two kids I save enough on groceries to justify the extra $, even with just drinks (mostly water), cold reakfast foods, snacks and PB & J it makes it worth it for us.

Thanks TJ, the rooms sound wonderful and being on site with all the benifits would be great too. Do you know why they don't offer ME?

ME is a Disney product for Disney hotels S/D are not disney hotels.

Swan and Dolphin are not Disney resorts, they lease the property and contract to offer many of the on-site perks, unfortunately ME isn't one of them. You can take advantage of extra magic hours, WDW bus transportation and there is a character meal at the Swan. You will also find a WDW Guest relations desk at the Dolphin and Swan with all the same information and ticket options as an onsite resort.

Other than that the only other option you don't have is the ability to use your room charge at the parks. FWIW I love the Dolphin and those two things don't bother us at all.

Rather than take Mears - I would rent a car from National or Alamo at MCO and drop it off at the Dolphin. It's a LOT faster that way, and you can stop at a store along the way.

So, if we get the private car they will get our luggage for us? Our DS is special needs and we can't go off to get it. We have a few bags so one person can't do it by themselves. It comes down to us needing help. What other options are there?

That is why we are staying at POFQ this time because of the luggage. Yet the rooms at the Dolphin would be so nice for us. How to solve the luggage problem?

Right now we are keeping out ressies at POFQ but wondered for next time.

If you're staying at POFQ - just take ME. They will take care of your luggage. However, if it's the same price for the room as at the S/D - I would stay at the latter because of the closer proximity to Epcot and MGM.

**Luggage is something you deal with at the beginning and end of your trip. Transportation to the parks is a daily occurrence. I would rather be inconvenienced twice at the airport with luggage and be in a better location for the rest of the trip. If you take a limo service to the S/D - the limo employee would handle your bags.

I love the idea of renting a car at the airport and dropping off at the Dolphin! It is way cheaper than a town car and if we have to do our own bags anyways, why not.

I think for our next trip it is going to be the Dolphin this spring. Thanks for the great help. For now we are going to keep our free dining at the POFQ.

The solution is to take a towncar. Towncar drivers will help you with your luggage at MCO.
