Cheap Tickets for park tickets and MDE?

I was just checking Cheap Tickets for room deals and after clicking on 'book now', I got an option to purchase a 3 day base ticket with park hopping plus 2 days free for $341 including taxes. That's cheaper than UT 4 day park hopper ticket with one day free at $349.

Has anyone bought their ticket from Cheap Tickets and been able to link to MDE?

Also, has anyone booked room-only with Cheap tickets and had issues with their reservation? They seem to have the same 5 day cancellation policy as WDW for room-only reservations.

It's cheaper than UT's normal prices. If you use the mousesavers link, UT has the same price. $341.87 per person for a 5 day hopper...and you get UT's awesome service and actual tickets mailed to you instead of the typical vouchers you get from a lot of third party venders. Typically, the Orbitz/Travelocity/Expedia/CheapTickets deals on Disney tickets aren't anything special. I have found that 99% of the time UT has the best deal.

Thanks for reminder to use the mousesavers link! When I checked the UT price I went directly to the website so it didn't show me the lower price. Cheap tickets only sends a voucher to be exchanged for a ticket so probably unlikely to be able to link to MDE.

I'm sitting on the fence about the room res but it's a pretty big savings if I book through Cheaptickets. I've heard it is not easy to cancel or modiify reservations via Cheaptickets though.

Beware! Although cancelling a room-only reservation with CheapTickets is easy (I booked/cancelled several Disney rooms via CheapTickets in the process of hammering out travel dates, and I have gotten refunds for all; for the reservation I am keeping, I had no trouble linking to MDE, setting up ME, etc), I have read on this board that the tickets sold by CheapTickets are vouchers with a specific date range attached. Not only can you get no refunds, but if your dates change, you can't even hold on to the tickets for use later. I have not tested this myself, so it's possible things have changed, but I wouldn't risk it given that UCT is a trusted retailer and offers the same price.
So, I would say go ahead and book the room with CheapTickets, but get your tickets from UCT.

Edited to add: Cancelling with CheapTickets is easy, but modification is not. Basically the only option to change your reservation is to cancel it and rebook it, possibly losing out on promotions that are no longer valid.

I agree. I too am considering booking a room through cheaptickets. It is a great discount available. I'm assuming you already are aware to add the discount code for an extra 20% off.

I had the same deal with Orbitz for December, and they just so happened to have the same deal on tickets. I got my room through Orbitz, tickets through UT. I would recommend you do the same, as in booking the room through Cheaptickets.

As Annie78 said above, though, keep in mind that modifications are difficult. If you call Disney about your room, they have no interest in talking to you about it or helping you with anything. They claim they have absolutely no access to reservations booked through a third party. No requests or changes can be made (other than online check in) until actual check in at the resort. The same can be said for tickets through UT, however UTs tickets are printed BY Disney. They are literally the same tickets Disney gives you. I had an issue in December and UT told me that.

Ok... have room booked through Disney Vacation Club, but have no tickets or dining plan. Can I get tickets through UT and link them BEFORE I arrive? Also, is the dining plan available to me if I don't get my tickets through Disney? Just am not sure if dining is linked to room or tickets purchased. :confused3

I am very interested in this as I have been searching hotels and debating where to stay. If you book a disney resort through cheap tickets, do you still have a "disney" reservation, ie magicbands and fp+ and all that?

Do I lose anything by going through cheaptickets rather than directly through Disney if I am only booking a room?

The deals there are much better than the spring promotion that Disney is offering!

You do get a Disney res number from Cheaptickets so you can link everything through MDE. The main issue I see is making any type of modification to your res. You do have to modify the address in your res to your own address (from the Cheapticket NY address because they are the 'owner' of your res) otherwise Disney will not send you magic bands.

You can't link your tickets if you buy them through cheap tickets because what happens is they e-mail you a voucher and you take that voucher to will call when you arrive at disney in order to trade it for your tickets. While there are numbers on the voucher none of them will allow you to link the ticket to MDE because it isn't a ticket just a voucher for tickets. I tried the same thing with an orbitz voucher and it wouldn't work and I even called the MDE help department and that was what they told me

Apologies, but what is UT?

Undercover Tourist.

They are an independent ticket retailer that sells tickets for lots of different theme parks. They are an authorized Disney ticket retailer, which basically means there is pretty much no risk buying from them.

They typically have the best prices on tickets.

1. Yes you can!

2. DVC members can add the dining plan, you do not have to purchase your tickets through Disney to get it. Call MS and they will add it for you. It has to be paid in full when added to your reservation. If you are renting points, the dining plan has to be arranged through the owner.

OK,ses1230....I am a DVC memeber and booked at my home resort. So you are saying that I can call and add my dining plan and then get my park tickets from UT and link them using MDE, right? ::yes:: I have always just done everything through Disney because I didn't know anything about UT.

Yes. We have done it on both trips now. A great way to save a little on park tickets but still allows the dining plan.

I booked a room only through CheapTickets and linked it no problem and it was found by a cast member no problem when I was booking DME. The only problem i ran into was you can't make requests to your room res through Disney, just CheapTickets. I didn't even bother though, I waited until we arrived (All Star Sports) and I requested Building 10 top floor and I was granted it, I was much farther away from bus stop.
