I rented a compact from Enterprise (MCO pickup and return) for Friday, December 5th through Saturday, December 13th. No codes or anything -- just punched in the dates on their website to see what turned up. I was delighted to get a quote of $137.02, and yes, this does include taxes and a "privilege fee recovery charge" (what's that, anyhow?). Based on my printout, it looks like they charged $84 for the week and $17 for the extra day. This seems like a great rate to me -- Budget was about $195 total, even with a discount code -- so I thought maybe someone else going the same time might be able to use it.

I like Budget, because I'm a member of their Fastbreak program and it's right at the airport, but for the $60 difference I'm willing to take a shuttle and maybe wait in line for a bit. The one thing I'm worried about is that my flight gets in at 9:30 p.m. and Enterprise closes at 11:00 p.m. -- if we're on time, everything is groovy, but if the flight is running late, I guess I'll be spending the night at the airport so I can pick up the car in the morning. And I have a prepaid (hotwire) reservation at Wyndam on International Drive ($33!) that night that I either use or lose. So I'm hoping for clear skies and no engine problems.

Best guess on that recovery fee, is the price they pay for the privilege to drive onto MCO to pick up customers, which, they then pass on to you.
