Ok, never have stayed off Disney property but might need to for one night on an upcoming trip.

If we fly out the day we check in we wouldn't be able to get into our resort until darn near 8pm. To me that seems like a waste. So if we fly out the day before it is only about $5 more per person. So we would like a cheap resort in the DTD area to stay at for the one night.

Or would it be better to pay for one night at a value resort?? I have AAA so I could get into one of those for $61/night. Is there anything less expensive?

Not sure of the address of the resorts near DTD area so I am not really sure what I am looking at and how close they are or not when I check out places like expedia.

Thanks!

Most of your DTD area hotels are going to be at leeast that much, unless you want to stay at a Day's Inn or the like. Priceline is an option, too.

Personally, I'd go with the value resorts.

Lake Buena Vista is the area you want to look for in an DTD area address.
herc.

Why not try Cypress Point on Hotel Kingdom for the night? Last year I got a 2 bd for $65. (We stayed 10 nights, but you can book just one if you want.) The entrance to DTD is right down the street.

The Days Inn Lake Buena Vista on Apoka-Vineland road is nice. Can get it as low as $55 w/ AAA depending on the season. It is directly across the street from the entrance to DTD hotels. We've stayed there in Sept. and Nov. and got a great rate. It is so close to Disney that you still feel like you are a part of it and it has a whole bunch of restaurants and stores all within walking distance.

if you are planning on using DME to get back and forth to the airport.

then you definitely have to use WDW value resorts.

they don't offer this service to hotels that they don't own.

besides without a car transfer is a pain offsite.

however on site you just pack up that morning. Call bell services tell them the hotel you are going to and go to the parks or go check in your other hotel.

It makes it very nice. (remember to bring anything you might need for the day - sunscreen, medicine, swimming suit, etc)
