cheap hotel in clearwater

for june wanted for 2 nights

we are 3 adults 1 child age 10
looking for somewhere that is easy to drive too, that is in a good location, within walking distance to beach and bars as when we get there we do not want to drive.

Stayed at Holiday Inn Sunspree which was within walking distance of everything you might need
Just needed the car to take a drive over to St Pete's Beach one day.

The hotel was fine but, have to say that the Hilton Clearwater looked inviting http://www.clearwaterbeachresort.com/ and was closer to the Pier where there's an adventure playground and buskers/street entertainers etc http://www.sunsetsatpier60.com/

Does it have to be specifically in Clearwater?? We are staying in Dunedin this summer..

We are paying $95 per night for a sea view and balcony. How does that compare??

yeah clearwater a must lovley beach and things to do there

any more advise would be fab also is it best to book before going there or cheaper if u just turn up to a hotal

Hi Loates,
You could wait til you get there, if you want. There are discount booklets that you can pick up, that have discount hotel coupons in them. Or yg ou could try and do an on line booking before you go.
Try tripadviser to look for peoples views on places etc... it will also give prices too!

If you want to stay on the beach.. be prepared to pay for it!!

I don't want to put you off but someone told me there is a lot of renovation work going on at Clearwater and to steer clear of it for now. (Hotels being built etc.)

I was advised to go over to St. Pete's, Treasure Island, etc. They are not much further down and apparently just as nice.

We always went to Clearwater but this has put me off so we will be travelling further south this year too.
