Hi,

For our anniversary trip in August we are spending one week at POFQ, followed by 2 nights at Hard Rock Hotel. As we're flying in and out of Miami we've pretty much decided to do the last 2 nights on the beach at Fort Lauderdale.

This leaves 3 nights to find somewhere cheap and cheerful not too far from Disney, as we have annual passes and will want to pop in at least once in the second week.

We will have a car and know the whole area well, so unusual locations aren't an issue - just looking for recommendations really!

Am sure Wayne will be along soon, he's the master of the cheap hotel it seems.
Fairfield Inn at the Marriot Village is usually a good deal tho, just off the 535 :)

:goodvibes

What dates you looking for?

I am a little fed up with looking for a hotel for Easter.
Spent 2 hours yesterday compiling a shortlist ready to book this evening. Got it down to 2 hotels, 1st with Travel Republic, tonight it disappeared, its also not on any other site. 2nd was on Thomas Cook, tonight gone up from £510 to almost £800.
Other 2 I choose want $10/night internet, I hate paying for internet:rotfl2:

So give me break from Easter and let me know your dates, what price?

Comfort Inn on Palm Packway, £40 a night! Im there for two nights in Feb, before I meet up with family!

Of all the places we have stayed at thats the only one we wouldn't go back to. I know many like it but we got a bad room, could write in the dust & caught a roach in my shoe one morning (get an upstairs room)
We paid £20/night and it was still too much for that room.
£40/night I would want 4 star :rotfl2:

Ahhhh doesnt sound too good, weve stayed there a few times now, once even for two weeks and we thought it was excellent for the price. But i suppose everyone has different experiences everywhere they stay!

I know we got a bad room as others post better experiences but £40/night is a bit OTT IMO, I would be looking at somewhere like http://www.embassysuiteslbv.com/ for under £40/night. Or you can usually get http://www.orlandovistahotel.com/ around £25/night. Comfort Inn LBV often have offers on travelzoo for around $30/night (about £22 incl tax)
Doesn't make a lot of difference for 2 nights but a longer stay £40 would be too much for CI for me.

Thanks for the replies so far everyone.

Wayne - we need a place for the 24, 25 and 26 August. Not too worried on price as long as it is good value for what you get, and clean!

We might splash out on a suite at the Fort Lauderdale hotel, so savings on these three nights would be a bonus!

We will be at OKW those dates, bring some camp beds, can't get any cheaper than that :rotfl2:

Showing as 5* is Hilton Grand Vacations Club with Alpharooms, after 5% cashback with Quidco just over £50/night

4* Four Points by Sheraton Orlando Studio City, again after 5% quidco £33/night

4* Regal Sun Resort DTD, Alpharooms are popular with this search tonight, after 5%, £38/night

2 & 3* anything from £15/night, somewhere I am considering staying a few nights is here http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Re...tay_Deluxe_Westwood_Blvd-Orlando_Florida.html
£25/night with Travel Republic. Near Seaworld.

Orlando Vista Hotel just outside DTD gate at LBV, after 8% cashback £26.50, GTAhotels.com

1800hotels have Best Western Lakeside(stayed there 4 times) £25/night

Another Esd Extended Stay Deluxe at LBV about £26 again Alpharooms

Is that enough to be looking at? :rotfl2:

If you want something different let me know.:goodvibes

Wayne - thanks, that is definitely plenty to be looking at! Lol at the campbeds at OKW - Carl snores sometimes, so I'm not sure you'd want us there :rotfl2:

Shireen - thanks for the details - will take a look at that one as well :thumbsup2

Shireen, was that the Sheraton Yankee Clipper in Fort Lauderdale?

We stayed there in April 09 and I'm afraid I would not reccommend it at all. It is very dated and did not feel particularly clean. On a positive note, the staff were lovely. The air conditioner in the room was exceptionally noisy (to the extent where it kept waking us up throughout the night), the bathroom was ... minging, the lift arrangements very odd and frustrating to use, and not enough of them.

We've stayed all over the place in all sorts of hotels and I'm perfectly happy in Howard Johnsons and the like but this really wasn't a good stay. We booked through Hotwire so I don't know if that made a difference.

ETA I would agree that a car would be a bonus but watch out for the parking charges - I think ours were $80 for 4 days. I suspect many hotels in Ft Lauderdale have this policy though, but thought it was worth mentioning.

Miffy - thanks for the input and the warning on the car charges - but we definitely need one to get from Miami to Orlando and back, so we will have to put up with any charges!

We're pretty set on the Pelican Grand, so going to book that and soon make a decision on the other Orlando area one.
