Anyone know? my cousin is getting married in June in Vancouver and we'd love to go but we just can't afford 900 per person from travelocity

anyone know where to get cheaper flights?

Westjet is pretty cheap sometimes.
Try the charter flights through a travel agent, rather than the big airlines.
If you REALLY want to do it cheap, fly buffalo to seattle and drive up to Vancouver!

unreal - i checked buf to sea and got a price of 260 as the cheapest.

that's INSANE that it costs almost 1000 bucks from toronto but the same distance in the states would save us over 2k

we have a lot right about our country - transportation isn't one of them

on the plus side, you can rent a car in Seattle and it will be a gorgeous drive to Vancouver, or you can take a shuttle - those are the things I try to tell myself when it makes me insane!!

I would really consider the Buffalo to Seattle route. Your rental car will probably cheaper also. It;s around 1.5 hr drive across the border. When looking for rental car, specify that you will be taking it over the border. I know they all don't allow it but I think Alamo has some with Canadian plates.

My parents live in BC so I fly this route at least once a year. Sometimes the prices come down after the next closest travel season, ie: right now they are still focused on March break and Easter travel, so wait a month or two and check the prices again. In the high summer season it's usually around $650+, but if you check Air Canada's website they sometimes have cheaper prices for their tango fare class. But they do it at odd times of the night, like 1am, and it will be gone by the morning. Two years ago I found flights that way over the August long weekend, and they were only $189 each way. Quite a good deal, for AC. But it will still cost around $500, give or take, even with a sale price. Sometimes the charter airlines are much better, if you are flexible with your dates. Good luck!

Sign up for westjet's JetMail. They quite often send e-mails about 1 day sales.

well it looks like we'll be skipping the wedding.

Cassandra doesn't get any breaks on price and if it's a choice between a full day of travelling, driving plane, switching planes driving, boarder crossing more driving. and paying much more for a direct flight i think we'll pass

it would have been a nice little vacation but we're saving for a disney trip next year so i don't think this is going to work out.

:(

Try WestJet on Wednesday. That is the day they usually drop their prices for certain flights.

The reason the US costs are lower for air travel is a numbers game. We don't even match the population of California. Therefore there are fewer people overall wanting to go certain routes, making the costs for airlines higher.

$1252 Return for 3 people is a lot cheaper than $2700 try southwest.com
