We are supposed to leave for Disney on Easter (I say supposed to because we have to get medical clearance for my dd on Thurs. or else we won't be going....fingers and toes crossed on that!). Anyway, this will be our shortest trip since we usually go for 10 days so we need to make the most of each day there. I don't want to linger over breakfast and want to keep it something the kids will eat on the go. Are there bagel places or something like a Dunking Donuts where we could go the night before to have for the morning? I am assuming that would be cheaper than grabbing stuff in the parks.

Thanks!

In the parks, you can usually find something affordable.

In Magic Kingdom, the Main St Bakery has muffins and egg sandwiches.
studios...Starring Rolls Bakery
Epcot...Sunshine Seasons...LAnd Pavillion

There are also fruit stands in all the parks.

We stay in a villa, so we eat beforehand.

You can buy some granola bars, peanut butter, cheese sticks, small cereal boxes, etc. to carry in to save even more time.

Have a great trip!

where would you be heading out from? which hotel? plenty of fast cheap spots in orlando.

We usually just eat in our room. We bring cereal, oatmeal, fruit cups and pop tarts with us so the kids can eat while I get ready. We've also purchased muffins the night before.

Hope your DD gets cleared to go!:wizard:

There is a Dunkin Donuts outside WDW. Go out by Downtown Disney and the DTD Hotels. Take a left and it's a short ways up the road. If I'm remembering correctly, it's on the right.

We are staying at the Contemporary. Thanks for the info. on the Dunkin Donuts...will likely do that a night or two and then have either pastries from the parks or pop tarts/oatmeal in the room before leaving.

Just keep in mind the prices there are not like back home. Expect to pay anywhere from a dollar to two dollars more around WDW. For example an happy meal can be upwards of $5.00. We just ordered Garden Grocer (things like bread, juice, soda, pb and J) on this last trip and brought some instant oatmeal from home that I heated with hot water from the coffee pot.

Also if you are having the Easter Bunny visit during your trip I recommend bringing candy from home. We did buy a few things at the Confectionary downtown MK but also did bring things from home that we mailed ahead of time to the resort. You can also buy items at the resorts and they will wrap them up in a basket but it's more costly.

If you wanted to pay extra we did an Easter brunch at Epcot and loved it.

I'm also a fan of getting pastries in either France or Norway and having those the next morning for breakfast. We've done that before and they were yummy!!

Going that way it's on the left - its at the corner of Apoka Vineland and 535.

Just remember sugary, carbohydrate laden pastries and breakfast foods will not keep you full for very long and the kids will crash once the sugar wares off. I would opt for protein-rich (greek yogurt) and whole grains along with some fruit.:thumbsup2

Goofy's Candy at DTD has pastries in a small case that they discount at night to half off. My dad likes to get these for the following morning. :-) I also pack a box of granola bars and get bananas from the food court the night before. I buy the larger sizes of milk and chocolate milk in the gift shop and keep those in the room fridge.

Instead of spending time traveling to and from an offsite Dunkin Donuts or any other donut shop, I would just bring some whole wheat bagels and peanut butter for quick breakfast. You can get milk and juice at the food court the night before and store it in your refrigerator. It's not the most nutritious breakfast that you can eat, but it will get some whole grains, protein and fruit into your bellies before you hit the parks. And it will stick with you longer, so you will be less inclined to stop for a snack before lunch.

We buy a box of Entemann's donuts at the gift shop and usually have two days of breakfast.

Last trip I packed a small suitcase with nothing but breakfast foods. We ate in the room or on the way to the bus stop. I took muffins (packed in a plastic container so they would not be smashed), oatmeal bars, apple sauce, fruit cups, cereal, etc. We ate at the food court once and mostly did an early lunch. Worked well for us.

We bring things we can eat in the room while we're getting ready, or in my case, things I can take out the door with me and eat at the bus stop. DD likes to have cereal and fruit (I get a quart of milk at the resort shop). I like granola bars or cereal bars, and fruit. I also bring small bottles of juice for myself, and juice boxes for DD, so we can have either milk or juice with our breakfast. Not only does it save money, but it saves a lot of time and it's just more convenient than standing in line somewhere to pay for something. :goodvibes

We usually eat in our room too. I take bananas, apples, luna bars or some breakfast bars and voila! that's breakfast.

There is a ton of stuff that you can have in your room - particularly if you don't mind the carbohydrate loaded breakfast and bring a cooler (a few small collapsable coolers and some ziploc bags pack well.

Hardboiled eggs, yogurt, bagels and cream cheese (if you don't mind you bagel untoasted), pop tarts, energy bars (there are a ton of ones out there that are not "just carbs), boxes of donuts, cheese, jerky, cereal and shelf stable milk, fruit, cereal bars, instant oatmeal (use the coffee maker in most hotel rooms for hot water)......

I wouldn't stop if what you are trying to do is save time or money. It will add time to each morning and cost more than a grocery store trip.

this year im throwing apple juice boxes, peanut butter, mini whole wheatbagels, string cheese in my suitcase. also packing some beef jerky too to snack on. i can get jelly for free from the food court so i plan on having pbj on the mini bagels in the morning.

The Contemporary is a long way from a donut shop. Big waste of time. Last time I went to WDW, (I drive, BTW) I brought bananas, a container of vanilla almond milk (shelf-stable, non-refrigerated, but requires refrigeration ofter opening), a ziplock bag of Cheerios with Craisins mixed in. Also, enough plastic cereal bowls and plastic spoons for each day. My friend brought her ricecakes and peanutbutter. I always bring the paper coffee cups w/tops that you pick up in the grocery store. Both Dixie and Chinet make them. I drink black tea, but if you are a coffee drinker, you can buy the International coffee creamers in the tiny individual servings that don't require refrigeration, or pick up a small bottle to keep in the refrigerator in the room. It was a 5 minute breakfast that got us up and out of the room quickly and it was not greasy, sugary or unhealthy. :thumbsup2

I recently discovered a new product from Nabisco, called BelVita.
http://www.nabiscoworld.com/belvita/#about
They are crispy, cookie-like wafers that are very healthy and are meant for breakfast. They are almost too delicious to be healthy and they would be perfect for breakfast at WDW. Next time, I'm taking some along. You can find them in the grocery store. :)
