The places are too many to name. You can get carry out at just about any restaurant. Pizza wise, we like Giordano's. There are also a lot of Chinese restaurants in the area that I am sure offer carry out. You can also get carry out at just about any of the chain places off site.

It depends on where you're at as far as eats go. 192 has food places but so does 535. It depends on which Disney entrance you're closer to. However, for pizza, Flipper's Pizzeria is our favorite must do. I've gone so far as to get one and pack it in a cooler to bring home for dinner. I even have the two we usually go to programmed in my cell so I don't have to bring my menu along.

I love Sweet Tomatoes in the Crossroads Shopping Plaza. It's about $10 for all you can eat soup (4-5 kinds), salad bar and they also have a couple pastas, baked potatoes with toppings, breads and desserts. There is also a takeout price but I'm not sure what it is.

It really depends on where you are. If you're on Palm Parkway, then there's Dominoes (I hope it's still there,) Hooters (although I've not been,) and a couple other places.

On the crossroads of 535 / Palm Parkway / Vineland Road, there's the Orlando Ale House, Black Angus, Chili's, Olive Garden, Giordano's... loads actually. Won't go to Sizzler there again after getting held up by a timeshare salesman, what part of I already own don't they get?

On 535 just after coming off I4, there is a Maccy D's (been once,) and Crossroads mentioned above, but never eaten in that area.

For the last few trips we have stayed in the same area, just trying out the different timeshares, so we know the food quite well round there.

Best bet I would say is to Google Earth/Maps the area you're staying in, most of the restaurants / take aways will be marked on there.

There is also another on 535 in the Giordano's plaza north of Crossroads.

Steak and Shake is great. They also have a 1/2 price happy hour for shakes and drinks (at least the last time I was there). I believe the time is betw 2pm and 4pm and then the same time in the am. It is cheap way to get a good cold drink in the middle of the day.

Turn right at 535 and there's a Golden Corral down about a mile on the left. Good prices, good buffet!

Stay away from the Fudruckers at Crossroads on 535. My family ate there in December for my birthday and my mom and I couldn't even finish our steak sandwiches they were so bad. Full of fat and no flavor. My dad didn't even like his burger though he ate it anyway. I guess some guys are like that. They'll not like it but eat it anyway. That's the 2nd time I have eaten there where the food wasn't good.

If you come out of DTD on Hotel Plaza Blvd and go across 535 (Appopka/Vineland RD) at the light, you'll be in the Crossroads

Is the Steak and Shake on 535 good, any recent reviews? The reviews I read have me concerned. TIA!

We eat there every trip to Orlando (usually after we hit Giordano's for the first time after arrival). SO far we've been there about 7 times in 2010 - I'd guess 10+ times in 2009. Service can be slow but haven't had any food quality issues. We've been to quite a few Steak & Shakes and that specific one is one of the most consistent in our experience.

And right behind the aforementioned Giordano's/Steak & Shake is a CiCi's pizza (at least it was there in 2005). Not the best pizza in the world, but if you're looking for CHEAP, this is the place to go. They have a buffet but you can also get takeout.
