Soudersburg Motel on Lincoln Highway(RTE 896) in Ronks Pa minutes from Strasburg Railroad Cheap and clean! :thumbsup2

I am betting you are going through York on Route 30. Many hotels in York but what do you consider cheap? What kinds of places do you usually stay at?

I would agree that York is where you might want to stop. It is right in the middle between Gettysburg and Lancaster. As long as you stay away from downtown York, you will be ok. There are 2 new hotels that are in safe places, but they might not come up on a search for hotels. I live in York so I will be able to answer any questions.

Thank you I am going to look that one up and see what it looks like.

We don't stay at too many hotels or motels, so it doesn't matter we are looking for something under about $80 a night if that is possible. LOL

I have never been to York is it in a bad area? If you could give me the names of the two hotels, that would be great.

Thank you all for taking the time to answer me!!!

York is just like any town, it has some good parts and not so good. But for the most part it is safe. The 2 new hotels are Homewood Suites and Windgate by Wyndham. The Red Roof Inn right on Rt.30 was just redone a few years ago, and they usually have cheaper rooms. If you are going straight from Gettysburg to Lancaster you will take Rt. 30. There are a lot of hotels on Rt. 30. It is not a very long trip between the two. I guess I am wondering why you need a place to stay between them.

We actually live in Western PA and we are going to Gettysburg and through Lancaster then on to Atlantic city, So I just thought between the two would be about the half way point to spend the night.

Thank you for the information.

Ok, now I understand. You might try a hotel in Lancaster, there are more hotels there. However, this is tourist season, so the cost might be on the high side.

Have a great trip!
