Am thinking of old key west for my next trip. I'm traveling with a 3 and 5 year old and it would be our first time at old key west. Should I rent a car? We are used to the convenience of the boardwalk villas. Is the pool at old key west big? We are coming from ny so the tropical laid back key west feel with palm trees is appealing. Lol plus the studio size and 2 queen beds(we have to do a studio this trip) thoughts?

up to you. if you are fairly patient, the OKW buses are pretty reliable but they are the only option to the parks and there are multiple stops within the resort (depending on where you board.)

there are multiple pools. here is the main OKW thread with a map:

the largest pool with a slide and with sandy play area nearby is at the hospitality house (main area with lobby, gift shop, restaurant). it is easy to get to from anywhere in the resort by hopping the first park bus that comes by (which should make their last stop at the HH area.)
