For my upcoming trip to LA in November, I was thinking about visiting both Magic Mountain and Universal Studios. Working with a budget, I'm trying to save money where ever possible, and parking seems like an unnecessary expense.

Is there anywhere within reasonable walking distance that offers cheaper (or free) parking, alternative to parking at the actual parks? I think MM is like $18 for parking and USH is $15. Saving $32 would be enough to put a smile on my face. :cool1:

At least for Universal Studios, I remember hearing something about cheap offsite parking. I've been searching all over but have yet to find anything. Am I getting facts confused, or is there cheap/free alternative parking within walking distance of Universal Studios?

Sorry I've never heard of a cheap parking area nearby these attractions. If there were an easy one, they couldn't get away with charging so much.

Yes.

You can park at McBean Transfer Station is Valencia and take either bus #3 or 7 to Six Flags $2 round trip. Takes about 10mins each way.

It was several years ago, but I have parked in the area of USH and walked a long way to get to the park. There are metered parking spaces that (at least back then) were inoperative on Sundays.

Instead of parking at USH, you can take the Red Line to the Universal City station. You cross the street after exiting the station (go left) and cross again to the stop for the [free] shuttle that will take you up the hill.
