I have heard that an unglazed flooring tile can be used as a pizza stone in an oven. Has anyone ever done this? What type of flooring tile do I ask?

You can get a pizza stone for a little over $10 I believe, and they often come with a metal holder that fits around it for handles. You may want to just spend the $10 for a real pizza stone. I have one and used it maybe 2 times. I never make pizza anymore, and the frozen ones go straight on the rack to make the crust crispy!

honestly-go to your local goodwill or salvation army store. both will likely have a wealth of pizza stones for a few dollars each. i've yet to go to one that did'nt have a few each (as well as allot of other used only once pricey pampered chef items:rotfl:).

Last year around Xmas Macy's had a pizza making set for like 15.00. It included the stone, a paddle and I believe a cutter too. I'd def shop around for a deal than use a floor tile.

Cast iron is also great for pizza baking. If you have a cast iron griddle that can go in the oven, you are all set! :thumbsup2

I've never seen any PC at our Goodwill, if I did they'd be mine. lol
I'd just spring for the stone, you don't have to go with PC, there are other types of stones out there. Stones are awesome!!!!! :)
