Ok, so I am on old crack...

Target Corp. announced Thursday it is selling its Mervyn's business unit and retail stores to an investment consortium for roughly $1.65 billion in cash.

(article from 2004) My bad - Target used to own Mervyns 4 years ago :snooty: :lmao:

Well you weren't entirely wrong so it's okay :thumbsup2 I didn't know that they owned Target before. :confused3

I wonder if it's due to Walmart and Kohl's stores?

I would probably definitely blame Kohls - we didn't have one in the valley until a couple of years ago - and they have grown big time since then.

No, not entirely wrong, just 4 years too slow :lmao:

Phew (insert the wiping my brow smilie) :lmao:

Okay, I need to get myself to bed. I hope you have a good day tomorrow. Goodnight Dizzy :cloud9:

Morgan is home sick again today. She cannot stop coughing. I went to the pharmacy for some new cough meds and the pharmacist was very helpful. Hopefully we can get this cleared up. I hate for her to miss too much school since we will be gone in Oct. Our district put strict rules down last year and took some students to court. :scared1:

Not that I think we will get to 18 absences but we have 2 under the belt with yesterday and today. Possibly 1 tomorrow.:confused3 3 to 4 in Oct for trip. 1 in Dec for my brothers Comissioning ceremony and that is hoping we dont get sick any other days. Last year one of her friends really had a few bouts of strep throat and the flu and had a hearing in court. YIKES. So stupid for valid illnesses with DR's notes.

Good morning, hyenas!
It's sunny and beautiful! Still in the 60s, though. Supposed to warm up into the 70s for the next week, though! :goodvibes

I took DS4 to his first day of preschool today. GEESH, the driveway was all backed up, all the parking spaces were taken but one (which I grabbed!) and DS4 was insisting he needed to walk by himself to school just like his big brother! NOT! :scared1:

So I walked him up the long drive to his classroom, his cubby is the exact same one he had last year, and his teachers are the same. He was so happy, and took off and hung up his backpack and coat like a big boy! He wanted to dash off to play right away, so I gave him a kiss and off he went.

Once I got home I remembered I hadn't taken him potty. :headache:

So I called the school to leave a message for his teachers: Please take him to the potty, I forgot! And call me if he has an accident! (I have no backup pull-ups at the school, forgot those plus his backup clothes.) Oy...

The receptionist was cracking up at my message. I'm glad I gave her a chuckle of the day. :rotfl:

I'm sorry to hear Morgan is still sick, Shawna.

My GF's DD6 had a fever last week. We were supposed to get all the families together (4 families, constituting 9 kids) last Saturday, but they canceled because the sweetpea was sick. I guess it went on for several days, but she was over it by the first day of school Tuesday. :thumbsup2

They're rescheduling the get-together for this Sat., but I am attending a scrapbook workshop, and so is one of the other GFs. My DH said he'd take the boys and go anyway (we all know each other really well), but my friend I'm doing the scrapbook workshop with doesn't think her DH will go, as they live the furthest from the hosts, about a 45 min. drive.

DS4 is home from preschool, apparently without a major potty faux pas, thank goodness. He is now napping.

I have a king-size headache, and am starving, so I'm off in search of food and some pills. ;)

And still waiting for the principal to call... :headache:

Hey doesn't AZ have a program called "independent study?" I know where we live, if the child is gone more than 4 days (I think,) they will put them on the study, and the school still gets the kudos they want. Usually when we did this, the teacher would have something or some homework to do while gone. And then give the kids extra time when they got back to finish the homework, realizing that most of the time, students are very busy while on vacation. Most of the time it was math, and then a nice report with pictures of where they had been. And then what did they learn from this experience? That kind of stuff. Maybe you have already done this?

Hi guys,
Things are not good here...The freak has crossed the line and we had to involve the police....I did not take a W for the class he is in with me. The prof. is sending me all work via-blackboard....I may be taking the rest of them on blackboard if it can be worked out with the prof.'s...if not I have to take a W....

I am very nervous about all of it.
Wow! I missed something here. Who is the freak? The same idiots with the fireworks?

It doesn't surprise me that Mervyns is closing. It seems like lately, the stuff is just so so, and the stores by us set up the merchandising so poorly. I get confused.:confused3 :lmao:
It's really too bad though. I hate to see that happening to any business....big or small.
