Chatterbox Thread-Cmon in and Jabber! Everyone is Welcome!

Annuity back in my old skin!

uhh, what?

Stupid iPad.

ohh I see..
It's the old Staley suit, does it fit in all the right places? :lmao:

And yes I "see" much better now, I got my Coastal Contacts order and ditched the hated bifocals. I will use them for reading only, they do help make reading just a tiny bit better. I can read fine with my regular pair but the bifocal crisps the edges a bit. I went grocery shopping with my bifocals on and felt all weirded out, like something was covering my eye and just made me exhausted trying to concentrate! Came home and my order arrived.. whipped them on and wanted to sing! They are a little different, not my usual "look" , slightly cat eye shaped. E said I could totally do the nerdy hot girl look  :rotfl:

My order came too! :cool1: Thank you again for letting me know about this promo. :flower3: The frames are alright. A bit rounder than my old ones but for $16 I can't complain! :)

Howdy Hyenas!

Sorry I have been MIA

Things are so busy right now for me. The ladies trip is coming up soon, and I've been pretty busy with that .

Everything on the homefront is good. My DS and DIL are making 800 pans of enchiladas this weekend to raise money for having a baby. THey are going for in-vitro, and that is super expensive. You can imagine the preparations to get ready for this has been very time consuming. We've had lots of donations and volunteers to help us out. We are blessed.

My sister Renee, is now on oxygen. :sad2: We plan on going to Oregon to see her next month. I am kind of scared of what she will look like. :sad1:

I hope all of you are in good spirits and healthy.

Mel:hug:

I'm so sad...my kitty Pearl is gone.:sad1:

Friday night while we were out my DBF's grandma went in our room and opened our window and the cat must have jumped out because now she's gone and I can't stop crying.

I asked the neighbors and walked all around looking for her all weekend but we live in a rural area and I know she's not coming back.

Then to make matters worse we were gone for a few hours last night and came home to find the front door wide open and grandma in her room with the door shut. :scared1: I almost died thinking that our other cat Diamond was gone but thankfully she was still in the house. I asked his grandma this morning why the door was open and she said she didn't open it. :headache:

It's been getting harder and harder living with her. I really think she need more professional help then what DBF and I can do anymore. She's constantly falling down the poarch steps or falling in her room. She doesn't remember things at all (like leaving our window open or the door).

We are thinking of giving Diamond to my mom but with losing our other one just a few days ago I can't really give her up, but I would rather her be safe and still get to see her then have her get out too. I don't know what to do right now.

Sorry about your kitty. Hope she comes home soon. Have you considered getting some help to come into the home for grandma? Maybe a home visiting nurse or senior daycare? It might help so she is able to stay at home a bit longer. :confused3

Bifocals suck! I would rather sit around with a magnifying glass then wear bifocals.

Wow, 800 pans of enchiladas! At that rate I expect you will have a station wagon full of grandkids in no time!:lmao: That is awesome that they are finding a way to help pay for the procedure.

Try not to worry about what Renee looks like. Even if her body doesn't look great, she is still the same person inside (and that's the most beautiful part anyway). What most cancer patients want most of all is for things to be normal. So try to treat her as normal as possible. The important thing is to be there and to enjoy the time you have with her.

We just ordered new computers at work. I'm getting an 8GB Mac laptop with a 17 inch screen.:dance3::yay:

Hopefully they will be here at the first of the week. Of course I really have no idea what I'm doing with a Mac, but it can't be that different. Of course, next week I may be doing :scared1: instead of :yay:.:lmao:

After having my iPhone I really want a MAC laptop but the one I want is $1800. :scared1: I need to get saving! :)

800 pans of enchiladas? :faint:
Hope it all went well. :)

Needing oxygen sounds scary, overwhelming for family. But for the person, it becomes a comfort item. One more tool to feel a little better, not feeling stressed out trying to "catch a breath" and will help her rest easier.

Oh man... talked to my mom today. She is SO ready to sell and move to town. She is willing to move here and be closer to sis, my brother and I because as she put it "I have no one here".
My oldest brother is still closer, but he moved farther out of town plus he works, has boy scouts, church and raising his teen and 9 yr old. He just doesn't have time to run out to my parents to help.

She told me how some lady fell outside, broke her leg, no one found her. She died of exposure. She tells me "that could happen to me" as my dad wouldn't be able to help, would be clueless that she was out there (thinking she went to town).

moooooooooooom! OMG! :scared1: :sad2:
It's scary because it's so true!
I keep waiting for a phone call that she or dad is gone due to some horrible preventable cause of death.

I hate that they live so far out of town. I hate worrying about my mom's health and sanity as the primary caregiver to my dad. It's too much. She was laughing (bitter sarcasm) about putting dad in a nursing home so she can have a life.. :guilty:

None of us have the guts to stand up to my dad. To tell him, look.. this is what needs to be done. Sell all this, move to a condo, get some help. :guilty:

They are definitely spendy...3 of them cost over $8,000.:scared1: Mine was a little more expensive because I need more memory for our accounting programs. The other two were a little bit cheaper because they are only 4GB. I've seen them (my bosses wife has one) and I hooked her printer up for her. But other then that, I haven't ever used a Mac. Everybody says they are really nice.

I sure hope they can sell soon and move closer. Now is not really a good time to sell, but sounds like at least your mom is coming to the realization that it's what needs to happen.:thumbsup2:hug:

Oh she totally is ready, has been since last summer, it's my dad that is the roadblock.

The neighbor already offered to buy the property, hopefully he still wants it and at a price my dad won't grumble about.

Good morning!

On Saturday DBF and I went to the Supercross at Dodgers Stadium. I entered a raffle in the Pits (the same one where I won the helmet last year) and this year I won a track walk. It was pretty cool. Plus before they took us out on the track we got to go in the Monster Energy VIP area backstage. There were waiters walking around with trays of food and all the free Monsters you could drink. We got to mingle with some athletes and celebs. I think I was most excited for the free food. :rotfl:

Here a picture of me on the finish line jump. I knew the jumps were big but after climbing up and over them, wow, they are alot bigger than I thought.

Right after DBF snapped this picture we got in trouble for climbing the jump. We were supposed to stay with the group and they only walked on a small portion of the track. Oops! :lmao:

The view from our seats:

Wow! Awesome Sarah!! Wasn't that a great race? Both the lites and the big bikes. The last couple of races have been sorta ho hom, but this was was awesome.

DH & the kids were at a local track practicing on Sunday, so I recorded it for them. So I got to watch it twice.:thumbsup2 While we were watching it and they panned the crowd, my DH said "do you see your Disney friend anywhere"".:lmao:

They are sure doing more and more activities every year. Used to be just walk around the pits, then they started having the poster & autographs and now they've really ramped up the activities since AMA is no longer running the show.

How fun for you guys! Guess I need to go buy tickets for Seattle in April. The only problem is we never know if it's going to rain or not and sitting in an open top stadium like Qwest field sucks in the rain. The good seats are out in the rain. The only part that's covered is the back half of the seats.:confused3 I really don't know what idiot thought an open roof stadium was a good idea in Seattle.:sad2:

So...my sister just got married. Yes, my sister that last year lived in Florida and had a husband. She moved to Arkansas and the ink is barely dry on her divorce papers and she's married already to husband #3.:scared1: :scared1::scared1:

Couldn't be bothered to tell us. Instead, we kind of had to find it out on Facebook by reading between the lines. She had a photo of her engagement ring she got right before Christmas.:sad2::sad2::sad2:

I should give her some big sisterly advice, but it's obviously too late now and I doubt she would listen anyway. So I guess I will just shut my mouth, congratulate her and be there to pick up the pieces when it falls apart.

And that's all I'm gonna say about that!!!

It was a really exciting race. :thumbsup2 We're going to A2 and San Diego and maybe Vegas for the finals. We buy the cheap seats but I order them over the phone so I can ask for Row A so at least there's noone in front of us. Plus I like being up higher, you get a better view of the track.

It must be my lucky day...I just got a call that I won a case of Amsoil from a drawing I entered on Saturday.

Wow! Sounds like you had a blast and double lucky on winning more!
It's been awhile since I've won anything.. hmmm, time to enter a bunch of contests again. :thumbsup2

I really don't know what idiot thought an open roof stadium was a good idea in Seattle.:sad2:

The same idiots that built an open roof for the Twins stadium and the TCF stadium at the U of MN, can't use it for most of the year.. so what's the point? Though the Vikings have used the TCF stadium since the Metrodome is still broken. Kinda fun to see the aerial shot with all the people shoveling snow off the field.

So...my sister just got married.
Couldn't be bothered to tell us. Instead, we kind of had to find it out on Facebook by reading between the lines.

  :sad2:

Ahh sounds very familiar, like when SIL got married. She announced her plans on Facebook, inviting all of her friends, but didn't tell her own brother first and didn't invite us at all. Pissed me off and it hurt that she excluded dh, he says he doesn't care.. but I DO!
I'm sorry you found out that way.
So do you even bother sending a gift for a third wedding? :rolleyes1

We went through a bitter cold snap over the weekend, -15 and -30 wind chill, brrrrrrrrrr. Warmed back up to almost 30 today, I like the warmer temps but my body is most unhappy with these swings in weather. :headache:
Didn't sleep well last night, walked a bunch on Saturday, chores on Sunday.. paying for all of it today. Hopefully tomorrow will be better, I have a massage scheduled. He can work on my neck, shoulders and upper back.. ahhhhhh.
I'm going to see how I do with weekly massages (discounted down to $20 per session). Every 2 weeks was helpful, but the effects wore off before I went again. Loose and happy muscles, gradually becoming tight evil burning beastly pain. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, makes me feel ornery mean and that is not me!

soooooo $20 a week is in the budget plan, it's therapy not an indulgence.

Talked to my sister today. As usual, she talked and I listened.:lmao: Anyway, no hard feelings. I don't mind not being invited or anything, but I think it would have been nice to have been alerted beforehand. Oh well. She's a big girl now, but I guess I still have that big sister protective/worry thing going on.

So glad your massages are helping.:thumbsup2 Wish they would help me. My body has been very sore lately. I try not to take any med's for it, but I'm getting to the point to where I think something might help. I'm just hoping that it's a lack of exercise and not anything more serious. I went for a walk at lunch time today. We are having nice weather this week (low 50's and no rain).:yay: So hopefully I will get a walk in every day. Today I wore 2 sets of inserts in my shoes so my foot won't hurt. Man...it sucks being 40ish.

Hii everyone! Im new on this thread.....hope thats okayy! :flower3:
