Chatterbox Thread-Cmon in and Jabber! Everyone is Welcome!

Oh B... I'm sorry you aren't doing well. I hope you get some answers soon.

What a weekend. Yikes! We went ove to our friends house Friday night. Holy mackerel. I was wildly inappropriate! Thankfully my husband thought it was funny. He could have strung me up. We didn't get home until 5 or so. En we had to get up and take e twins Christmas shopping. Then we took a nap, and James and Missy came over to our house and we played games and hung out til around two. Then I took Julie Christmas shopping Sunday. I was up until 3am trying to make a pinafore. Still didn't get it done right, and had to get up early to fix it. Still sucks. So I got a wh ole crap ton of no sleep.... But lots done I guess. I am just ready for a restful weekend. :lmao:

Hi ladies,

How are you all doing? I haven't been on the DIS in a long time. I just have been busy or running around but have been keeping up with others on FB. I have a good circle of friends who I have been hanging out with a lot. I just finished my hip hop class but signed up for the next session. My teacher said that she has seen huge improvements in me. She said I used to just look down and be stiff and not move but now I have found my rhythm and she thinks I'm doing a lot better. Recently she was trying to organize a Christmas show that was open to anyone in the class. Since me and 5 others weren't in the show, she asked me to teach them dance moves for half the class. :faint: I was nervous at first but they said I dance well and they said they couldn't do the moves I was teaching them. lol. My teacher had me do this a few times but she is so cool that she taught me one-on-one after class a few times. :)

My family loves my sister's dog Bryson. He is so sweet and my sister has trained him well. She still takes him to puppy class once a week but she works with him when she takes him for walks and such. My bro and I were thinking of adopting Bryson's brother- Frisbee. This is from a no kill organization and they also have rabbits, chickens, horses and cats for adoption. I don't know if we will but Frisbee is so cute :)

I just finished my Xmas shopping last night. I'm really happy about that but now I just need to find the time to wrap them all :faint: I am hardly ever at home and always out somewhere. All my friends and even relatives who have seen me recently, have all told me I lost a lot of weight since they last saw me. I have been going to the gym a lot and am trying my best to force myself to stick to it. If I don't go I feel guilty so I guess that's a good thing. :rotfl: I dropped 4 pant sizes so far and am really happy :)

As part of my sister's Xmas present, I printed photos and put them in frames. Here's what it looks like:

Here are some pics of Bryson :)

It's really crazy this week for me. I still have a lot to get done before Christmas. Next week my family and I are going to DL and I'm really excited about that. It should be fun :)

I hope you guys all have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year! :goodvibes

Geesh we are all busy busy busy!
Not a bad thing, just make sure to take time for you too!

Thanks Megan, I have more good days than bad lately. I kept quiet about it here, my summer was really bad with the high humidity. Even our last DL trip in spring was painful, took me several days to regain some energy. I tend to push on through and just keep going. The smarter way is to pace myself, but who has time to do that?

awwww, cute puppy pics Rochelle ! He is a doll and I hope you adopt a puppy of your own. Glad your family realized that pets are not that bad to have around and can provide a lot of joy. I know we love our Poly, she makes us laugh and though she is not a snuggly cat.. she does hang out with me. Keeps my toes warm. :cutie:

I had another massage yesterday, hour long this time. I decided not to do any real deep tissue/ bodywork this time round. He still found a few knots, tried to smooth out this one bad part on my back but it just wouldn't release. Overall it was relaxing, soothing and I was sad that we had to go back out in the snow storm to get home. I wanted to crawl into a corner and just sleep.. zzzzzzzzzzz. :cloud9:

A little sore and tired out today from all the walking thru the snow to get home. Went shopping with sis to Target and Trader Joe (YUM!!!!). Now I am relaxing with Eloy's electric blanket/throw. Best thing EVER!
I need to buy another for me as we keep swiping it from each other.

Boys have one more day of school, then it's laze around until next week..ahhhh (because we will be stir crazy by then and MUST go somewhere!)

Merry Christmas everyone!:santa:

Hi Ladies! Sorry I've been MIA lately. I started re-reading the Harry Potter books and sort of got sucked into them in the evenings. I just finished Book 6, so only 1 more to go. It's amazing how much of them you forget over the years. Anyway, it has been an enjoyable read...but I miss you guys.

DS however, is ecstatic...because now he has the computer all to himself in the evenings & doesn't have to share.:thumbsup2

Anyway, we are down to the last few days aren't we? ARRGGHH!!!! We are having a family dinner at our house tomorrow night. We're serving prime rib, scalloped potatoes, 7 layer salad, deviled eggs and oreo ice cream dessert and apple crisp w/vanilla ice cream...along with some cheese, sausage & cracker appetizers. I tried to keep it fairly easy, yet make everybody happy. Making scalloped potatoes & apple crisp in crock pot. DD is making her specialty, the deviled eggs. DH cooks the prime rib...so easy to make everything ahead of time and enjoy the day visiting with relatives.:thumbsup2

oooooooo now that's what I call "fancy food" (but not fancy feast because that's just icky cat food)

I just asked dh if he wanted anything special for Christmas Day and he replied " you mean something more special than pizza?" well uhh sure... :lmao:

I'm craving some fruit and fresh vegies, time to go back to the store and splurge a bit. The boys have been assigned a day to cook next week, they have to let us know what ingredients they may need.. this might be interesting! Noah I can trust, Justin tends to wander away when he has pots on the stove.. burnt oil and popcorn smell very nasty BTW

I love the Harry Potter books. I haven't read them and honestly, I have missplaced some of my books. I don't know where they went or if maybe someone borrowed them or something :sad2: I can always buy more since it's not too expensive now. I was thinking of using the borders coupons or something. My sister gave me the UK version of the 4th book as a gift before. It's pretty cool and is a thick paperback :)

My favorite is book 5 because I love Sirius Black. He is my favorite character. :)

I am surprised in the films, they never put Peeves!

Swing by the Goodwill or another thrift center, we were missing a couple of them (not sure where they disappeared to!), but for 99 cents we got new "used" paperbacks.:thumbsup2

Hi guys!! Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. I didn't read back but we got back from Dland on Wednesday and I had to work Thursday and then Friday I had to run around and do a bunch of last minute shopping and then Friday night we always go over to my aunt's house for Christmas eve and they have a big get together. Then it seems I have come down with yet ANOTHER cold. Not sure if I got it from getting drenched in Dland or what but I was commenting to mom that it seems I have gotten sicker since I got the stupid flu shot then when I didn't LOL.

But anyway we had a nice laid back Christmas yesterday and the kids are all excited about all their gifts. And now I am waiting for mom to come over to do the obligatory day after shopping to get next years wrapping paper, ribbons, bows etc at half off.

Then I plan to come home and do NOTHING!! ;) I have to go in to work tomorrow but since I have the girls I hope to only be there for a short time and also mom has to go to Truckee so hopefully I won't be there long and no real plans for the rest of the week till New Year's when we will go to mom's and have a New Year's/b-day dinner for Katy. We already had her kids party back in September but we always do a family get together on her actual birthday and she opted to wait and get her gifts from us and my parents on her real birthday so that is what we are going to do.

Anyway that's bout it for me. Hope you all had a wonderful christmas and are enjoying the holidays!

Take care and talk soon!!

Ahhhhhhh.... My home is back to normal! Cliff left Sunday. :cool1: Such drama with him. He calls last week to confirm his flight, and it was for the 25th of freaking November! :scared1: they had to book him a whole new flight. $700. Can you believe it? I wasn't surprised. Between cliff and his dad I don't think they have a brain. I hope everyone had a good Christmas... We did. The got tons of stuff, and we had a big ole dinner.

Howdy Hyenas!!

Hope you all had a nice Christmas!

Went up north to see my sister Renee. She looks pretty good yet. I got a little teary eyed at times of course. Dave and I plan on visiting her in Oregon some time in February. I hope it works out.

Today I did practically nothing. It was nice for once. LOL! :rolleyes1

Take care! :grouphug:

woohooo! But yeah how odd to make that major of a screw up???
Our Christmas was mellow, just us and the boys. Eloy made caramels and dinner, we just lounged about the apartment and popped in to neighbors to give them caramels. The lady downstairs got really dizzy, her whole family was there anxiously asking her questions and called for an ambulance. Hospital overnight for observation but they sent her home the next day. I'm glad she is okay.. but wow.. talk about stressful holiday!

Pratically nothing? AWESOME! that is the best kind of day!:thumbsup2

----------------------------

ahhhh family drama..
My BIL pissed me off and caused me to be very upset when they visited a few weeks ago. My symptoms flared up while they were visiting.. not enough sleep, too many people, out of my routines. I got out of BIL's putt putt two door low to the ground car and my thigh cramped. It felt like a hot poker jabbing thru the muscle.. OW, that's a new one. Stumbled my way to our building, E raises an eyebrow and I tell him "yeah I'm hurting".

Climbing back up the stairs to my apartment, BIL and E were behind me.

I was walking up the stairs a little slow, hanging onto the rails to steady myself. Eloy is usually slow on the stairs too.
I could tell BIL was getting antsy behind me and was going to wait for him to pass.

But no... Mr NO Manners quips "C'mon OLD Gal" in a sarcastic tone.

The man has been pissing me off all freaking day with his ongoing jokes and silliness, I swear he's like ten. :sad2: Even my teenagers were tiring of him.

I flipped out ::blush::
I turned, hit him with my hat and called him an idiot and "no one thinks you're funny!" Pushed myself up that last flight of stairs, slammed the door in his face, stomped off to the bedroom.

And burst out with a horrible crying jag.

It was out of character for me. I don't yell, I don't pick fights, I don't hit.

Eloy told him off, I hid out in the bedroom to calm down, wrapping up in my heating blanket.. aaaaaaahhhhhhh.

Poked my head out an hour later, BIL is asleep on the couch.
He never apologized.

I posted on his Facebook page that his lack of apology bugged me and a link explaining fibro.

Weeks pass, he posts "it was a joke about your age, everyone else thought it was funny"

Everyone who?? The only other person was Eloy .. and it pissed him off too!!

sigh... so now it's my turn to piss off Eloy's family
I swear we can't win with those people!!!

:headache::headache::headache::headache:

My precious but clutzy dh took out the trash two days ago and fell HARD on his butt.

There was an icy snow drift right in front of the dumpster. He climbed up on top, went to bang the dumpster lid down to knock off the foot of ice and snow on top of the lid as it was really heavy. When he pulled the lid back down he slid on the ice. WACK! on his behind.

He told me he laid there for awhile, wind knocked out of him. He had on his hoodie and his winter coat has a big hood.. cushioned his noggin. Thank goodness!

He suffered through one day and called the clinic the next to get looked at as it felt worse. Funny, our clinic system advertises "same day appointments" yet couldn't get him until tomorrow. :headache:
Went to an urgent care, waited 40 minutes in lobby. Got called back (nurse was great, asking all the right questions and totally understood his needs as a dialysis patient), waited another hour for the doc to come in the room.

The doc had terrible bedside manner, no introduction, put on gloves even though she was just looking at his hand. :confused3 Asked some weird questions about his home hemo "someone taught you to do it yourself?" uhhhh yeah :confused3 (should we have said, "no we just figured it out and stole the equipment" ? )

He explained how he got in kidney failure and she replies "Oh, tough break"
ummm okay, not very professional are you? :lmao:

Anyway, he broke his coccyx (tail bone). He felt like his wrist was broken too, feels just the same as when he broke one of the bones in his hand two year ago. There is no swelling, no bruising, doesn't feel like any torn muscles. There is a defined area that hurts when touched. Sounds like hairline fracture to me.

Finally get x rays, wait another 20 minutes for the doc to come back.
She says "we see lots of surgical clips, are there clips in there"

well gee I guess so?? :confused3 (surgical clips from the tied off old fistula/access, the surgeon closed it off to get more blood flow for his new fistula)

And then says there is no fracture, but she doesn't even show us the x ray.
okaaaaaaaaaaaaay

Advises to contact his primary if it doesn't get better and before she leaves offers to order a splint. (No advice on how to deal with the pain of wrist or tail bone, no meds offered. Thankfully he has a standing order for pain meds with his nephrologist)

The nurse pops in right away with the splint and does a wonderful job explaining how to use, adjust and tips to make it feel better. (At least they had really good nurses!)

Poor guy. His day has been: sit -- ow, stand-- ow, walk--shuffle shuffle ow.

Oh yeah, the snowy ice pile in front of the dumpster.. it mysteriously disappeared this afternoon. Gee thanks apt caretaker, a little too late now!

We laughed this morning and joked about taking pictures to show the ice/snow for evidence when he sues our landlord. :lmao: Darn! It's gone!
:rotfl:

Gee Bernice!

You've had a couple of "bad" days. Your BIL is a big idiot, and a jerk!! Sounds like the doctor was kind of too. Thank goodness for nurses!!!

Hugs to you!

Thanks Mel :goodvibes

Better day.. well for me anyway.

Eloy is zonked out on pain killers while dialyzing, poor guy. His wrist feels better, still pain only in one area when touched.. hmmmm.... His tailbone hurts a lot. He wouldn't be able to do anything without pain meds :guilty:

What was that doc thinking?? She didn't even ask what level is his pain or offer any ideas to promote healing.
Thankfully we have a bit of medical knowledge and can seek answers, but not everyone can.

Today we have rain, can you believe it? 38 degrees, rain and it's end of December (January is typically our coldest month, single digits or negatives).
BUT it's turning to snow Friday. Scary thought of how slick the streets will be when the temps dip this weekend. We are to drive to my parent's place on Saturday for our annual holiday get together. They expect freezing rain today and Friday, snow on Saturday.

Crossing fingers it's not too bad. A friend posted on Facebook there was a 100 car pile up on 94 (major highway) near Fargo. :scared1:
Edit.. I think my friend got his numbers crossed, still bad.. but not THAT bad. LOL
"Across the border in North Dakota, a 25-car pileup contributed to a 100-mile shutdown of Interstate 94."

Yikes B! Rough couple of days for Eloy. Hope he's feeling better soon. I can't imagine how bad that would hurt. Your BIL is an idiot...and you can tell him I said that!:lmao:

Melody, hugs to you and your sister. Hope she's doing well.

Happy New Year everybody! I know, I'm a bit early, but I'll never make it until midnite.

DH had to work tonite. They have a ship of something coming in and his boss wants him there to go thru the unloading process. It wasn't due in for a few days, but apparently they made it a few days early. So much for an exciting evening!

Hello and Happy New Year everyone! I've been trying to enjoy the girls break and although I've been checking in on facebook haven't really been on the boards or net much.

We had a nice break although I hate to admit I feel like it went way too fast. In one respect since we went on vacation at the beginning it seems like forever ago that the girls were in school and even since we were at DLand and yet since I have been sick pretty much the entire time since we got back from DLand I wasn't really able to take the girls anywhere like I normally do or do much after xmas shopping and so it didn't seem like the normal break. Plus although we DID have a family party for Katy on NYE we usually have her "kid" party the weekend after which since New Year's was yesterday it prob would have been this upcoming weekend so it seems a little weird that we are not doing that eventhough I know we already did it in Sept. I guess I am just a bit blue cuz my baby is getting so big and I love the holidays so much and look so forward to the fall and all of the fun that starts in Sept/Oct but when it is FINALLY all over it is kind of a let down. We put all of xmas stuff away today and maybe it is the rain but I am just kind of sad. Maybe it's cuz I know I have SO much crap to do tomorrow closing out 10 and starting 11 and it's a bit stressful cuz this is my first year doing all the books and having to do all the tax stuff on my own plus we had a change with our payroll tax and we can no longer pay it at our bank and have to do it electronically and there is just a lot of stressful stuff going on. Plus gas prices are going through the roof and we are getting our new governor and NO ONE wanted this guy. He is renowed for being awful and it stuns me who the heck voted for him. We had him once before in the 70's and it is a running joke what an idiot he was THEN. It is well known he is going to raise taxes and do a lot of stuff to just make things worse than they already are and this state is already so bad off. It's just really depressing.

Just wish for once when the new year started we could look forward to a fresh start and something GOOD to look forward to! We are all really leery of what is going to happen in our state and fear it is going to get really ugly! :(

Anyway sorry to be on a downer just having kind of a blue day. I need to take my pics in from xmas and new year's and the girls want me to take them to use their gift cards so we may do that in a bit. Hopefully things be as grim as they seem and there will be something good to look forward to. I'm not going on the diva trip this year and instead we are hoping to go to the beach and back to DL one last time before all our AP's expire in June. I really hope it all works out and that this raise in gas prices and everything else doesn't keep it out of our reach.

I hope you all had a wonderful new year and B I am sorry about all of Eloy's troubles and hope he is feeling better and Mel I hope your sister is doing ok and hope that you get to see her in February!!

Megan glad things are back to normal at your place and that you had a nice Christmas and Happy New Year to you Allison and hope you had a nice holiday as well.

Take care guys and talk soon!!
