Chatterbox Thread-Cmon in and Jabber! Everyone is Welcome!

We had a good day yesterday. Dh's buddy was having a b-day party for his baby. Little guy was turning one. It was fun.. Kids were great. I was nervous about taking all the kids over there. They have one kiddo, and his brother has one kiddo.. So there were two kids, until we walked in!:lmao: It was all adults!:rotfl2::rotfl2: Anyways, we did the whole b-day party thing.. Then we left after about an hour or so. Hung out at home and all.

THEN we went back over to his buds house after all the kids went to bed.. I have always felt a little uncomfortable around dh's friends. I knew they didnt like me much, plus I am so much younger then the rest of them. Not a big deal now, but it was really noticeable when I was 21 and they were all almost 30 or so. ANYWAYS.. We had the BEST TIME! James told me that he was so glad we came to the birthday party.. He said that he was so impressed at how well behaved all my kids are, and how well we handled them. He couldnt believe that all the kids were being good, not getting into tons of stuff, misbehaving.. All that. He said, you all have four kids, and handle the group of them better then John (his brother with the 2yo) and his wife were handling their baby! and they have just one!! It was awesome. It really made me feel good. :cloud9:

Then he started talking about Alex. His little guy, Andrew.. was crawling all over Alex, and just having a blast playing with him. James saw it and went over to grab Andrew, because he thought Alex was going to get upset or something.. I pulled him back and said.. No. Watch. Alex LOVES babies and is really good with them. James and Missy were SHOCKED to see how well Alex was with him! They were rolling around, playing and giggling.. It was so awesome. James even video taped it he thought it was so awesome!:lmao::lmao:

OMG.. I made a shirt for Andrew for his b-day..Its a bowling shirt, and really simple to make. Only took me a couple of hours to make. Anyways!! They were all fawning over it.. That made me feel good, because I havent ever made something for someone who I didnt give birth to!:lmao: Then one of their other friends were there, and they are a gay couple who had a baby girl through a surrogate.. SHe is the CUTEST freaking baby I have ever seen. OMG!! Anyways, one of the dads was looking through our photo book from Disneyworld, and he looked at the shirt I made for Andrew and he said.. GIRL!!! I have some work for you!!! :lmao:He wants me to make some clothes for the baby girl!! OMG!!! He wants to PAY ME!!:banana:

That is so awesome!!! Your ability to sew is something to be treasured. There are lots of people who want a certain look and can't find it in stores that would be happy to part with some cash. How cool is that?!! Now you have something to do during those lonely quiet times when the kidlets are at school. :goodvibes

Kelly, hope you have a great party today!
Alison, he did okay.. he even put together a deal all on his own. I was most impressed, even though they did short him $5 off the order.

I completely forgot, until my sis called, that we were invited to her house for my dn's birthday today. We squished into her car to motor over, had pizza and cake. Just chillin until I had to admit that I needed to go home and rest. I have a cold that is kickin my butt, along with my usual joint inflammation. yech!
DN enjoyed his cake and gifts, one short lived moment of screaming in my face as I stopped him from running with scissors pointed at me  "screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeech, I need those!" as I plucked them from his hand and directed him back to where his mom had asked him to go several times in a row. And both parents had told him to stop running with the scissors. :sad2: Sorry you are frustrated, but you need to listen to the grown ups.. even on your birthday! ;) He got over it, I gave him back the scissors and showed him how to carefully carry them while walking to go open his packages.
I don't stand for any misbehavior, NO means no and you need to listen to adults who are working on keeping you safe!

Morning gals! Sounds like everyone had a good weekend!

Megan that is awesome that everyone loved your handiwork. Makes you feel good!! :) I would def make the stuff for the guys and heck you SHOULD get paid. Your time is money!! Quite the compliment!! :)

B that sucks that you are sick! I hope you feel better!

We had a GREAT time at the party yesterday!! Everything went really well and the weather was perfect it was really fun and Katy had a blast!

We got home and I was pretty tired and went to bed at 7:30 but then woke up at 10 with a splitting headache! I tried my usual remedy of an ice pack and cold cloth on the eyes but it never worked and I didn't get any sleep so I am going to go to work tomorrow instead of today. Plus Shane got laid off again today which sucks. So his check is going to be missing 2 days now. BLEH! I hope this is not a start of another cycle of lay offs!! We have been going pretty good lately with him not missing any days for awhile but I hope this doesn't start because of course the holidays are coming and we have MOST of our big bills due the end of the year. Both our car registrations and our 6 month insurance premium plus christmas. Luckily we got Katy's birthday over with and since we did it at my mom's we saved money! But still I just hope this doesn't start up again!!

Anyway that's bout it for me. I hope everyone has a good day!!

Hello,

Kelly- glad your DD's party went well. I hope you feel better

Bernice- did you catch a cold? I hope you feel better  I think people are starting to get sick now that the weather is changing. :(

I had a good weekend. Friday night I went shopping with a friend of mine. She wanted to find a b-day gift for a mutal friend. We grabbed dinner at Cheesecake Factory and also got cupcakes from a place we had never been to. The cupcakes weren't bad but they were just okay in my opinion.

Saturday I signed up for another session of hip hop, did some shopping.
Sunday I went to DL in the afternoon. I found some cool pins that I traded for. I found 3 from a Chip N' Dale CM set and also found a mystery pin of Dumbo :) I was really excited. The coolest thing was the Dumbo pin. I saw a CM had it on her lanyard and there were 2 ladies trading pins with her. One of them was about to get it when they turned to me and said: "Which pin did you want?" I said: "The Dumbo one" and they said: "Oh well go ahead and take that one." I said: "Are you sure? Really?" and they said: "Yeah, we're good" and they walked away. They were so nice and I thought that was really awesome of them. That totally made my day :)

I'm drowning the cold with glass after glass of water and tea. Which means running to the bathroom every hour and not wanting to sneeze too much! :rotfl:

Down to sniffley slurp sneezey and tail dragging fatigue. Better than it was. I typically get a cold twice a year, it kicks my butt each time. yep Pix , it's totally in line with the weather changes.
This round spread from Justin to me and to Eloy. How Noah escaped I have no clue!

Morning all! B I sure hope you feel better! Man I had a BAD day yesterday. I haven't had a headache like that in a LONG time. I have had worse ones pain wise but this was a pain that I couldn't get to go away so it was nagging and then I took 2 darvocet. The first was ok but I took a 2nd at lunch time and I don't know if it was the headache, the pill or the food but then I started getting REALLY nauseauous. I HAVE had that happen with really bad migraines but this one wasn't THAT bad but I was SO sick to my stomach and I am one of those that does NOT like to get sick so I was walking all around the house and outside, drinking alka seltzer, it was miserable! I wanted to sleep SO bad too and the pills made me so dizzy that I was just really miserable. I couldn't lay down though cuz my head hurt so bad. BLEH. But finally I was able to kind of sit up and close my eyes and thank goodness at least the nausea went away finally and my head is not hurting AS bad today but it still hurts and I HAVE to go in to work today so I am going to have to hopefully just go in and get it done and then come back home! And Shane is off AGAIN! UGH! I hope this isn't going to keep going!!

Anyway that's all for me. Hope everyone else has a good day!!

Drive by Hi!

I have decided to write a Trip Report about the Disneyland Half Marathon weekend. I have never written a TR so hopefully it comes out OK and hopefully people read it. :rotfl:

I am ordering pictures from the race. It's $79 for a digital download of all of the pictures I am in. When I first looked up my name only 5-6 pictures came up but I went one by one and now i have 24 that I'm in. So maybe you can only see have of my head in some of them but the website says $79 for all phots you are in. :rotfl: As soon as they email me the link and as soon as my mom emails me her pictures I will get started. :thumbsup2

Hope you all have a great day! :)

The other day I waited behind a HUGE John Deere tractor at a stoplight! I laughed and thought to myself at the time....only in Tulare! :rotfl:

We have tractors going up and down our road all day. Not any really big farms, but lots of fields that need to be mowed. The funniest sight I ever seen on our road was early one Sunday morning a small Dodge truck heading up the road with a full size trampoline on the roof. It was hilarious. Their was a moving sale at a house on the bottom of our hill. I had seen the trampoline for sale. Well they bought it and instead of dismantling they just put it on top of their tiny truck and drove it up the hill at 6am on Sunday morning when there was no traffic. The think was about 15' across, and I can only imagine if somebody had been coming down the road about that time.:lmao:

Morning all!

Well yesterday we did all our shopping for the party and picked up the cake. It turned out really cute! Then Katy and I went to Target to look for some hawaiin music and I didn't know just how hard that would be to find. I looked online and the Lilo and Stitch soundtrack was perfect BUT it is only sold online. I then looked at Target, the record store and some other places online but NO one sells that! SOOO we had a bust. And we looked for some hawaiin themed baloons at the store but they didn't have squat so we thought we could get some at the hallmark at the mall and NADA!!

We then thought we could get some stuff for the halloween exchange and they didn't have hardly anything either. We struck out on all fronts!

The girls did win their soccer game yesterday which was good!! And they had the air show here in town and we saw a bunch of F18's fly over as well as the stealth which was really cool!

Anyway I found an old surf song cd I had so that is going to have to do!

Anyway we are off here in a few to run back by the store to pick up a few things we forgot yesterday (ice and a few other things) and then go to mom's to get the place decorated etc.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Try Dollar Tree if you have one. All summer long they have had Tiki party stuff and I was in there about a week ago and they still had tons of stuff.:thumbsup2

Yeah Megan! You may have found an awesome job. You could start sewing and sell them at bazaars, etc. This might be the start of something big.

Hope you are feeling better. There seems to be a lot of bugs going around the last couple of weeks. Of course it coincides with school starting.

Awesome. Hope you'll post some when you get them. I so envy you being able to run in a Marathon. I've always wanted to do something like that but I can't. Every since I was a kid I've had asthma, it only flares up when I run or when I get sick. I could walk briskly for hours, do aerobics, ride a bike 20 miles; but I can barely do a 50 yard dash without gasping for air. I'm always stuck doing the 5K walks in races...me and all the kids and little, old ladies.:rotfl2:

Hello,

I went to my hip hop class last night. I did a lot better this time because I was more comfortable and I didn't focus so hard on trying to copy her. It was a lot easier and more fun. Towards the end of class I felt a bit dizzy and nauseous. I drank water but it made me feel even more nauseous. Finally, the teacher told me to go to the bathroom to put a wet paper towel on the back of my neck. Luckily there was a nurse who just happend to take the class. She told me that I looked pale and she asked if I felt dizzy and nauseated. I told her yes and she told me my blood sugar was low. She asked if I had eaten and I said I hate lunch but that was it. She told me not to skip meals again and I felt sick because I was burning calories on an empty stomach. The water made me feel worse because it was empty calories. I went to buy an orange juice from the vending machine but I only had a $5 bill. The front desk didn't have any cash at all and couldn't give me change. The girl at the front desk gave me a small piece of candy to try to help. On the way home I stopped and got something small to eat and just felt a lot better afterwards.

I never had that happen before but I'm not going to do that again. Even if I don't feel hungry, I should still eat something small. I was thinking of maybe getting some nutri-grain bars or some quaker oats bars or something.

Other than that, I did pretty well in the class and I did dance more after I washed my face but I felt like I was going to puke.

Not good. At least all is okay now.

Thanks gals for the well wishes! Back from work! I just went in and did the payroll taxes and got the heck outta there. Had to do them cuz they are due tomorrow. Then I ran up to CVS real quick to get the pics off my camera as I had some going all the way back to July LOL. I had our party at my cousins, first day of school, soccer and Katy's party so it was getting pretty full and I wanted to get it done. Then when I got them all printed out and got home I found out they shorted me five pics :(. Oh well. I will have to make sure I have them all next time!!

Anyway glad to be home and I am feeling better finally. Not 100% but WAY better than yesterday thank goodness!!

Alison and B I think you are right it might be the weather changing or school or what have you. I know Shelby said half her class was sick and sneezing the other day. UGH! I guess it starts!

Anyway Rochelle that is good you are enjoying your class but I agree you should def eat a bit of something first. I found that if I don't eat at reg intervals it sets of my migraines. That among every other trigger in the world LOL but that DEF does it for me. It makes it really hard when I am trying to lose weight cuz when I try to cut back on eating I get a MASSIVE headache! But I guess yesterday was the day for the pukey feelings LOL. Glad we are both feeling better!! :)

Sarah that is awesome you are doing a TR and will be anxious to see your pics!!

Well I am going to go take a nap I think!

Have a good one all!

wow, everyone was chatty this morning!
The cold rages on, this time with a fever :thumbsup2 Nice!

Or maybe I just masked a low grade fever before with my usual motrin dose in the morning? Didn't take it today, too busy hacking up a lung and got side tracked. mmm yummy, lungs, want some? :rotfl2:

Kelly, that sounds like an EVIL migraine! Glad you feel better.
Pix, eat! Puking and Passing Out is not the coolest new Hip Hop dance move! It's so yesterday  retro, not the cool kind of retro :upsidedow

Too funny hauling a trampoline on a little truck. We see people drive by occasionally that we go .. uhhh geee that doesn't look safe? As they drive by with a mattress barely strapped down to the roof of their sedan, fluttering in the breeze and attempting to take off like some giant bird in flight.
Somewhere buried in my parent's albums is a picture of the delivery of the first home put in on their lake property. The road was narrow two lane with lots of hills and blind curves ending in a one lane dirt road as it approached my parent's driveway (also hilly, curved, unpaved and very narrow).

When the house was delivered, there was nowhere for the trailer to turn around. The delivery team had to back it in the entire way from the highway to the resting place on the property. Several painstaking miles of slowly navigating this extra wide, extra long load with dips, hills, curves.

Thankfully it was delivered in the fall, never would have worked in summer as the population increases with everyone out at the cabins. At that time it was only my parents and two other families on the road year round.
I lived out there for my senior year, hated every minute of it. I felt so isolated and cut off from everyone, 45 minutes to town. Personally I think my dad likes it out there because he is isolated, no need to interact with anyone. My mom, the social butterfly, hates it more now that she is retired and has less chances to "escape" .. I so wish they would move! Little scary as they are both in their 70's now and my dad needs hands on help for everything.

Morning and happy Wed!!

Sarah loving your trip report!! Makes me really excited for next year and I hope it works out that we can do it!! As the others have said LOVE all the pics!!! :)

The good news is I FINALLY am feeling better. My headache is gone and I just have barely a bit of sniffles left YAY!!!

The bad news is (and those that read FB already know this) but my dh has been laid off now almost a week. Wouldn't be that big of a deal if it was JUST a week but when this starts happening then it is usually a trend and it starts going on like this for awhile all through the winter. And the crappy part is the summer is supposed to be their busy time but he had alternating layoffs this summer as well because of the recession. I think this year he has made like 30,000 LESS than last year. Hopefully if nothing else it will help us tax wise!!

The bad part is his stupid boss will lay him off all but 1 or 2 days and then he can't claim unemployment for that week which sucks cuz he would make MORE in unemployment for the week then he makes working for 1 or 2 days. So it actually would be BETTER if he were off the entire week cuz we come out worse in the end. I know that probably doesn't make sense but does anything nowadays LOL.

Today is his 4th day off but because his pay periods go wed to wed and unemployment goes M-F he would have to be off the REST of this week to file and he thinks he "may" work tomorrow and Fri so at this point we don't know. I am really stressing though and we wouldn't have spent as much as we did on Katy's party if we had known this was going to happen :( Plus then I start stressing about bills and everything. UGH!

Oh well. I guess we will just have to wait and see. IF he goes back to work and STAYS working we will be ok but it is going to get ugly if he stays off much more than a week! Esp if his boss keeps screwing with him and he only gets a day here and a day there and can't get any unemployment to supplement.

Anyway not much else going on round here. Survivor starts tonight so hopefully that is good. That is one of the few shows I have left that didn't get cancelled or end! Then tomorrow is soccer again and then this weekend we have another game. Otherwise nada. Won't be doing much of ANYTHING for awhile till he starts working again.

Girls have school pics next week so prob will have mom trim their hair up but that's bout it.

Well hope everyone has a good day and take care!
