Chatterbox Thread-Cmon in and Jabber! Everyone is Welcome!

Sleepy weekend.. :cloud9:

Typical MN summer we have had humid hot sticky days followed by thunderstorms in the evenings.. and a short time in the basement when the tornado sirens began to wail. Wicked storms on Friday, flooded parts of Mpls and big hail the size of quarters in some areas... but none for us.
Saturday was more hot yuck, just a little storm in the evening. Today is shaping up to be more of the same but it's still cool from the storm last night, hopefully can keep the AC off until afternoon.. I don't want to know how much our elec will be next month. Tried going without but I get sickly when it's too hot and crabby as all heck! Since I want my dh and boys to still like me :rolleyes1 the ac stays on! :thumbsup2 :lmao:

My parents are considering selling their lake home. I hope they do as my dad's health is declining. I know my mom has a hard time keeping up with all the outside work and driving my dad into town for appointments. They live 30 miles out on a small lake, most of the homes on their road are seasonal only. A little scary during an emergency, when my dad had his heart attack she had to get him in the car and drive him into town by herself. :worried:

My sis and I are trying to convince them to move here, mom wants a condo or town home and so far they haven't liked anything the Realtor has shown in their city. Luckily there are tons of condos on the market in our area, the foreclosure homes in the area have been bought up instead of the lower cost condo/ town homes. There are even two available just across the street from me on a pretty little pond. I sent mom a few links with condos that will suit their needs. Crossing my fingers...

Kelly- welcome back! I missed you by 1 day! I hope to see you next time :) I am glad you had fun with your family :cutie:

Bernice- I'm sorry to hear about your father's health. I do hope that your mom finds a place that she likes. I think it would be great if she took up you and your sister on your suggestion of finding a place that was close to you both.

Sarah- I hope your surgery goes well! Let us know how it goes! I had fun with you at the park and thanks for sending me pics of Glowfest. I hope to catch it when I go this coming weekend. :cutie:

Samey Thank you. We are very exicted. 5 is a good age because she still believes in magic. princesses, doesn't like Captin Hook, loves pixie dust.

So I hope she doesn't have to many melt downs and we have fun.

I will be in Florida for the 4th. No tickets to Disney world on 4th but heard it is nice to sit outside of the Grand Floridian and watch the fireworks.

What is WOC?

Does any one know where I can get one of those cute Disney count down things for my deask top?

Have a fabulous day. Here's to good times and short lines.

Morning and happy monday everyone!!

First of all good luck Sara on your surgery. What was it for again? If you said I forgot sorry!

Rochelle I was sorry to miss everyone as well. I was hoping to get together with some local gals but because we had to go during the week it wasn't possible. Like you said hopefully next time. I have my AP of course and we upgraded the girls tickets to AP's so we can hopefully go either during halloween or the holidays so we will most likely go over a weekend next time so the girls miss less school and hopefully we can see more people next time. Glad you and Sara had fun this weekend!!

Bernice I am sorry about your dad and hope that your parents are able to work out the details of selling their home. I know how tough that is when they age and have to deal with all that! Plus I am sure it would be great for you and your sis to have them closer!

Well we never made it to the movie yesterday. I had a coupon for my pics at Sams and mom went with me and they don't open till 10 on Sundays and then we decided to just shop around and wait for them to be done so by the time that was all said and done it was 11:30. SOOO by the time we got home it was REALLY hot and I didn't feel like going back out again. The girls were watching all the karate kid movies (the old 80's ones) and so we just stayed in.

Today it is back to reality and back to work. The girls will go back to swim tonight and then tomorrow I am taking to morning practice but they will miss eve practice because we have a girl scout event finally. They are playing monstor golf although I have NO idea what that is. I kind of hope it is something INDOORS because it is REALLY hot and the idea of being outside in this heat at the hottest part of the day is NOT desirable!

So we shall see! But anyway the rest of the week is pretty much just practice and work and not much else going on and then this weekend it is still up in the air but I am pretty sure we will just be here in town.

We don't have a meet which will be a nice break again and then the state fair is coming up so I need to figure out when we are going to go.

Otherwise that's bout it for me.

Take care and talk soon!!

I hope everyone had a good weekend. I met Sarah (funball) on Saturday. I had a lot of fun and she had never been inside the animation building in DCA. I took her to see Turtle Talk With Crush and I got to talk to Crush :) I was excited because I was afraid to ask him questions or wasn't sure what to ask. He asked what my name was and he called me Rockin Rochelle I think. lol. Then I asked since he has so many kids, what his wife thought of that idea. :rotfl: He said: "Oh, she's an awesome turtle mama" and he went into detail about the different tides turtles swim through to lay their eggs on the beach. He said: "If the eggs are buried in cool sand, they hatch and become males. If they are buried under hot sand, then they hatch and become girls." Then he said: "That's why guys are cool and chicks are hot!" :rotfl:

We had lunch at Trattoria. I didn't know they changed their menu and I do miss their sundried tomato spread with the bread and their chicken alfredo lasagna is off the menu, but everything else is good. I had a pasta with bolognese sauce that was really good. Sarah had a chicken panini that she said was delicious. :) We found out that their dinner menu has different food items (that also sound delicious).

The park was not too hot, it was about 76 degrees and there was some breeze. We got to go on CA Screamin twice, so that was really fun :) I bought World of Color popcorn and it tastes fruity and is good. I like the different colors and also the bucket (because it has a blue glitter colored lid and has a silhouette of Tink on it ).

She convinced me to buy a pink tiara and she got a silver one. We wore them around the park and it was fun. I always wanted to do that but I assumed it would look weird on me or something. It was fun to try something new. :)

Here are pics of the popcorn:

Kelly-hopefully I will catch you next time you are at the park :) I told Sarah that I met you and the divas over at Napa Rose and that it was fun to just sit and chat :)

Sarah(Funball)- I hope your surgery goes well today

Tonight is my hip-hop class. I missed last week's class because I was sick. I am going tonight but now I have horrible cramps. :headache: I'm still going to go anyways! I think the class is fun and even though I have only been to 1 class, I hope to be able to learn how to bust a move :rotfl:

Tomorrow I have a therapy session to discuss what to do with 2 or 3 scrapbooks I have of pics of me and my ex. This is really hard because I remember the time I spent on it and the heart I put into it. It's really sad in a way because it was 13 years. In another sense, I don't want to look back and maybe I will have kids one day or family and say: "This was my ex. He was abusive" :sad2: I was asked to bring in the photos tomorrow so we will see what happens.

well tomorrow is my surgery.. wish me luck!!

Good luck on the surgery...I'll say a prayer for you and your surgeon.

Not sure about the Disney count down things. WOC is World of Color, its the new water, laser show in the lagoon at Disney California Adventure park. Just started a few weeks ago. I've heard WDW is crazy on the 4th, so probably good that you don't have tickets.:thumbsup2

Sarah(Funball)- I hope your surgery goes well today

I say you cut his head out of all the pictures and replace it with some hunky, hot movie star!:thumbsup2

Then you take all of his pictures you have cut out and do things like flush one down the toilet, burn a few, wipe your bum with one, drop it off a bridge, tape one down on the driveway and repeatedly drive over it, stick him headfirst into a pile of doggy doo at the park, stab him with a steak knife, put it on the dart board, tape it to the bottom of your shoes and walk all over him all day, run him thru the washer & dryer, microwave him for 2 minutes on high, cut one in small pieces and vacuum it up-then leave inside the vacuum bag for several weeks, put him in the sink & pour bleach on him watching him melt, see what happens if you coat him with Drano or Liquid Plumber, hold a pic on the wall and pound a nail thru his sensitive areas then hang a nicer picture over the top of it covering him up, throw several on the yard and mow over the top of him, cover it with liverwurst and leave it laying near the sidewalk so a dog eats it and then it comes out the other end. Those are just a few ideas.:rolleyes1:laughing:

Of course that's just what I'd do.:lmao: I haven't actually done all of those things...but I did once do the dartboard thing and I have to say it was fun.:rotfl2:

Awesomeness on a fun day meeting a new friend at DL :goodvibes
I had a feeling the two of you would have a blast together.

Happy to hear things went well for you Funball sara.

And Alison.. remind me not to get on your bad side. :scared1:
And creatively funny too! :rotfl2:

Though finding dog poo in the city is kinda hard unless you own a dog. Now goose poop, I can find lots to share if you ever have a need.
I like the idea of the dartboard and the taping to your shoe to walk on him all day. Take a pic of him along to hip hop class and pound on him as you dance. :thumbsup2

Some pics might be easy to crop him out, besides your good at using photoshop to change the ones that wouldn't look right cut down to size.
Time to make a photo album of the new you! ::yes::

Artscow is a cool site where I have ordered dog tags and other pics, they keep sending me offers for low cost photo books, watches, and blankets. You upload your pics, use their software to fit the area. It takes a LONG time to ship as they are based in China but it's cheap and good. :)

I know there have been coupon codes for shutterfly and walgreens too to make your own albums for just shipping cost.
Something I need to do, but when these offers come up the computer is tied up with the boys or were busy.. so it never gets done. Some day!

We pulled our camping equipment out of our storage unit in the basement. We scratched our heads, scrounged around in storage and checked all of our closets.. can't find one pie iron and our camp stove. :guilty: Sat and thought about it for awhile, vaguely recall giving to someone.. who who who??:confused::confused:

oh wait, did we give it to my sis when we moved??
hmmmmm, I think we did. :headache:

Oh well, at least I found a few things in the closet that had been buried and deemed lost: umbrella, hammer, bag of finishing nails to hang my welcome signs...
:rolleyes1 Time to clean out the closet? Nah!

Tuesday we will go to buy the last few things for our camping feast.. Cub had bags of giant pink and white marshmallows. Thought it would be fun to have these monster ones to toast over the coals. Corn on the cob and strawberries are on sale. Have hot dogs from a previous sale and will pick up buns at the bakery thrift. Decided on crescent dough, cherry pie filling and cream cheese for the pie iron... YUM!

Hopefully my sis has the other pie iron and can drop it off by Wednesday afternoon. I think I will bake a bunch of muffins to have for our breakfast, less work than tinkering with a fire in the morning and trying to put it out before we pack up.

Morning and happy Tuesday everyone!!

Sara glad everything went well with your surgery and NOW I remember! I remember you told me what you were having done when I was telling you about MY surgery I am sorry I forgot. Hope you don't have too much residual healing pain and you are back to yourself quickly!! Glad you and Rochelle had fun and that is cool that you two live down there and can get together and go to the parks! That is cool!

Alison you crack me up! I have pics of ex boyfriends and all my albums of my ex husband or rather I should say I have the albums but I took out most of the pics with him in it. I do have our wedding album still intact and a few others but almost ALL of that stuff is in one box in our garage. My mom wouldn't LET me get rid of the wedding book as it cost a mint and there IS quite a few pics of family and such in there and to be honest I look at it as part of my past. My ex was sort of emotionally abusive as well but not to the extent of pix's but I just put all that aside and look at it as part of my past. It will be interesting to see what your therapist recommends! I agree with B that you need to start making NEW albums of your new life!! :)

Bernice all your camping prep sounds like fun. I truly miss camping and wish I could still do it. I really used to love it but with all my health issues it is hard. I am going back to my uro next month and I am hoping maybe in the 2 years since I started seeing him that there have been some improvements in my condition because I have been on two different meds for my bladder condition and they really aren't helping and that plus some other issues I am having make it REALLY hard. Some days it is hard just to walk around the mall because I CONSTANTLY feel like I have a bladder infection and it is super painful. If I sit or lay down it is not as bad but the more active I am and certain days it is much worse and I tend to have IBS and that aggravates it. So I just hope that he can suggest something else cuz I have been suffering with this for years. I had hoped that when I had my colon surgery last year and got rid of THAT pain that it would take a huge weight off but unfortunately I am STILL dealing with this problem.

When I was there last Nov he said if these pills he put me on last time didn't work I might have to get botox injections and I can't even IMAGINE how one would get botox injections in one's bladder??? Plus somehow I doubt my ins covers it and I wonder how long they even last. I am hoping that is not the case. Plus since my IBS tends to make it flare up I wonder if that would even help. It is SO frustrating.

I will be interested to see what he says though!

Sucks getting old LOL! It seems like everytime I get one thing under control then something else bugs. It makes it REALLY hard to be able to do much. Ever since we got back from Disney I have been thinking I REALLY would love to do something else like go to the mountains or on some OTHER type of vacation but that is not going to happen anyway since we have used up our vacay budget BUT even if we COULD go I don't know if I would be able to deal with it! Sucks! Anyway will be interesting to see what he says anyway!

Today I am taking the girls to morning swim and we are going to have to miss night practice because the girls are FINALLY going to get to do something with Girl Scouts. They went to a few meetings this year but no real activities and we are going to Monstet Golf whatever the heck THAT is LOL. The girls say they know and say it's "cool" ;)

So we will be doing that and then tomorrow I have a guy coming to look in my attic at my AC because even though for NOW it is working it broke the last two summers in a row and it is about 30 years old and my parents own our house and they just had one go out on one of their rentals so they are thinking about replacing it with one they found on sale sort of proactively. So hopefully that all works out because I would rather it get replaced NOW BEFORE it breaks and we are without an AC for several days when it is in the 100's!!!

Then Thurs I finally have my apt for my mamo which is good since I haven't had one in 3 years! I know I know bad girl but I had a legitimate reason. I had switched doctors 3 times and ins twice so it was just the way it worked out. So I will be glad to get that done. Then it is back to work on Friday and we are DEF staying home this weekend.

I don't know if my mom is going to Truckee or not but the new model is not ready yet so we can't go up there. We are going to try and go see Eclipse sometime in the next few days when it opens and then on Sunday we will go to mom's and they have a block party on their street which should be fun and we will swim and bbq at their place as well.

And then Shane gets Monday off work as well as our office will be closed so not sure yet what we will do but hopefully something fun!

We have meets the rest of July but I am hoping maybe some of the weekends in August we can take a weekend or day trip and go up to the mountains or to the beach! REALLY wanting to get away for another short getaway! We shall see!

Hope everyone has a GREAT day and talk soon! :)

Of course that's just what I'd do.:lmao: I haven't actually done all of those things...but I did once do the dartboard thing and I have to say it was fun.:rotfl2:

rochelle, i like sam's idea. the head cutting and this one! hey and you can insert edward cullen's photo in his place! lol :) or jacob black, depending witch one is your style. :) the dart board thing is fun though.

so everything went well, last thing i remember was them puttin something in my iv to make me go sleepy sleepy, and that is all i remember! i woke up an hour later, i could not talk, during the surgery they stuck a tube down my throat for air or something, but i woke up didn't seem to be in too much pain. as soon as i got home i went right to sleep! an slept for a good 4 hours! anyhow everything is back to normal excpt i can't do any excersise for 2 weeks and lift anything over 15lbs. but today i get take off the enourmouse square bandages i have- one over my belly button and there is cotton ball undernearth with sutures, an another one just right below with the same thing cotton ball and sutures etc. so i get to take those bandgaes off today and take a shower!(yay!! :yay:) and then reply new bandages..now when they say no excersise for 2 weeks i wonder if walking around disneyland fits in that catergory?!? ehh probably not right? i get the sutures off on saturday and then i plan on celebrating my return..i mean visiting the park! :cool2:

anyhow how..other then that i go back to work tomorrow :scared1:, not really happy about that! oh well , hey at least i got the park maps to send out! :rotfl:

OMG!!! Aren't those giant marshmallows like freakin' huge!! I seen some in the store the other day. I really don't like marshmallow, so I was just about gagging at the idea of having to eat one. But I do have to say I was impressed by how big they were.:thumbsup2

Glad you're doing well. And let me tell you that you can visit DL after a surgery, you just need to get there early and rent a scooter. I did it after my last surgery, walked a little, rode a little and it was nice to be able to cut to the front of the line on some rides.:thumbsup2

So does that mean your bladder won't wrinkle if you get it all botoxed up?:lmao: Wish you felt better and I know what you mean about getting old, I feel like I have a 20year old mind stuck in an 80yo body!:hippie:

ohh sam it was nothing major i didn't have plastic sugery or anything.. just tying the tubes! lol. :) i have my GAC that i got the other day, i can renew it each week so i can use that. those scooters go so freakin slow!! lol

botox for ur bladder.. hmm that is a new one.. what else can we woman botox? our knees? toes? arms?

Bought the huge marshmallows, Noah and I split one to try.. uhh interesting, I think they have a higher gelatin content than regular ole Kraft Jet Puff. Odd texture but the boys were intrigued to see what will happen when we toast them.. Eloy was trying to convince us to put in the microwave, the horror of having to clean exploded marshmallow goo ran through my mind.. I kibboshed that idea right away. :lmao:

Botox in the bladder? Hmm.. before the botox treatment for wrinkles started they used botox for children with Cerebral Palsy to inject the muscles to prevent them from becoming too tight. Perhaps botox in the bladder would be similar treatment, the bladder is a muscle mass that expands and shrinks as needed. Perhaps the injections would help smooth out the muscle to prevent spasms?

Okay.. did some reading, looks like urologists have been using it "off label" since late 90's and there have been several studies to prove it is effective. Average is about 6 months, need to go back and get more injections to "top off".. read a few news items and a blog of someone who had it done, life changing was the common theme of those who had the procedure. I would say go for it! no bad side effects and the chance it will work for 6 months is worth it... have your urologist help you argue with insurance. :thumbsup2

Lol. I know. If I get botox it should be for something GOOD right? Like all the dang wrinkles on my face. I have also been told I could get botox for my migraines but have never tried it. I never really wanted to. I really hope that I don't have to resort to it for the bladder either cuz like I said I don't even want to KNOW how they would do those injections???

The bad thing about interstitial cystitis is it is kind of a newer diagnosed thing and they only really have one drug for it El Miron which is the one that I have been on for 2 years now and he also put me on this one called oxybutin which is supposed to keep you from having to pee all the time like detrol or one of those but neither of them have done much. I have already had ONE surgery and I have these ulcers in my bladder and it is just a long ugly story but basically it is a nasty disease and really hard to cure. They don't have a lot that fixes it and if these pills don't work then you are kind of sol. SOOO I am kind of nervous what he is going to say because if what I am doing isn't working I don't know if there is much else they can do and for anyone that has had a UTI I am sure you know how uncomfortable it is and imagine feeling like that 24/7! It is VERY frustrating!!! The only good part is I don't have the burning when I pee just the constant feeling that I have to pee and it is painful. Makes it hard to walk or exercise or whatever.

Plus with the stupid bowel issues I have had I have a lot of pain there as well and it is just frustrating. I just wish I could get these doctors to understand that these things REALLY incapacitate you cuz when you have this pain you really don't feel up to doing miuch of anything. I have gained back almost all the weight I lost because I haven't felt up to exercising because it is too painful. Well we shall see I guess.

I was really hopeful after my surgery last year that I was done with at least PART of it but it seems that I am still having issues and I SO don't want to have to start over with all that torture. All the tests and exams I had to endure were really painful and recovering from my surgery was awful. I really don't know if I could do it again. UGH!

Bernice did it happen to mention HOW they do the injections? They don't have to somehow inject it directly INTO the bladder do they? Or can they somehow do a big needle that goes through your stomach and into it like the ones they use for those tests on pregnante women ( I forgot what they are called, Amnio??) I wouldn't even MIND the cost if it isn't absorbanant and if it worked. At this point anything that would work would be a good thing. I am just a bit nervous because as I said when I get these stupid IBS flare ups it tends to irrate the other. He told me that happens. So I hope that that doesn't adversely affect how the botox would work. I will have to speak to him about that.

My apt is July 20 so I am def anxious to find out what he has to say!!

Thanks for doing that research though! Good to know it has helped some people.

Sarah- I'm glad that your surgery went well and that you are feeling better :)

Alison- you are so crazy with your ideas!! :rotfl::lmao: I brought in my scrapbooks to my session today. She said that I'm so creative and that it was cute how I did the lay outs and that she can tell I put a lot of time into each one. There were photos of my family members in there as well, it was kind of a mix of pictures because my X and I were out with family somewhere or something, etc.

She said that if I had brought in a bunch of photos (like stacks of them or a mix of them or something) she would say to just burn them or toss them. She said since mine are done so nicely and tell a story on each page, she said to just store them in a box and put them in the garage....in a place where I won't find them easily or have to get to them any time soon. She said that down the road, one day I can look at those and just feel no emotional attachment and will tell myself that that was a chapter in my life that is closed and I can get rid of them. She said it will take time to get there.

She said I am improving and that I need to stop beating myself up and being so hard on myself if I have a setback. She said: "After all, you are only human and you shouldn't punish yourself and be so hard on yourself."

She sees that I am doing better and that in time, I will get to that point where I can look back and say: "Ugh, what was I thinking being with a loser like him??" She said I just haven't reached that point yet but I will. I just need to take things so.

Yesterday I was looking through pics on my laptop. I saw some of Emilee from 3 years ago. I had videos too and opened them to see what it was. There was one where my little sister is chasing her around my parents home and they are laughing and then there is another where Emilee is showing me a dance she learned and then I see my X in the background. He is sitting in a leather loveseat at my parents home and sitting sideways. He has his legs hanging over one side of the chair and is reading a book. I thought: "OMG, I can't believe I didn't think anything of that before. I was just so blind for some reason. That is just so innappropriate and disrespectful to do in the home of your girlfriend's parents' home!!" :headache:

From that, I know as small as that is, I felt a change. I am starting to see things in a different light and the blindfold is being removed from my eyes. I just need more time to heal but I feel I am on the right path.
