Getting caught up with your adventures Justin!
I am sooooo jealous!
Disney (and all of us voters!) made a great choice for the CMO and I am glad you are sharing it with us.
Keep up the good work!

Hiya little brother!!!! I'm enjoying following all of your adventures.

Thanks! :) It's great to hear from you - thanks for checking out the thread. I love reading your trip report as well - sounds like you guys had a blast.

How's life in your neck of the woods this summer?

Amazing updates!!!

Thanks again! As always, I love the feedback!

You have the coolest job EVER! :goodvibes I love the updates, I don't post much on your thread, but I'm definitely a subscriber and always lurking!

Well thanks for subscribing and stopping by to post! It's great to have you here! The rest of my trip update should be on here by the end of the weekend at the latest.

Sweet pic... Looks so peaceful :)

Yeah. There are a lot of things I love about these experiences, but one of them is definitely getting into the parks early in the morning when they are calm, serene, beautifully peaceful places.

Justin your updates have been wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing this experience with all of us.

We are thinking of taking a trip to Disneyland in a year or two. Your update is getting me really excited about this possible trip. I am glad that you are enjoying yourself.

Thank you again for sharing. It has been really enjoyable to read about your adventures.

:thumbsup2

I'm glad you're enjoying my journey! Keep in mind, there are still 10 wonderful months to go . . . :) Let me know how your planning goes for your potential Disneyland trip - it's a wonderful resort and I highly encourage any Disney Park fan to make that trip at least once!

wow! Beautiful hotel! Sorry your luggage didn't make it, but wow,..with 7 minutes in between flights it's a wonder you did. You must have had some Disney magic following you around! :goodvibes

WOW! They have a Ralph Brennan's??? I have yet to go there but it's pretty close to me...in New Orleans about 45 minutes away.
I bet that was great!!!

great pictures!!

how amazing!

ahhh :goodvibes you are really making me want to go more and more!

more great pics!

I miss Mr. Toad's Wild Ride....I'd much rather have that back than Pooh in WDW. No offense to Pooh :confused3

sounds amazing!

Thanks for all of the wonderful feedback, Cherbear! I'm really glad you are enjoying the photos and the thread! And I agree - riding Mr. Toad's Wild Ride brought back some wonderful memories from when I was a kid . . . . for some reason it is still one of my favorites!

ok that is just totally awesome!

I wanna go!!

I absolutely love the chefs on stilts!

it's all great but I just think those are too cool!

:scared1: :worship:

That's amazing and you really deserved that honor.

oh that's quite alright. :thumbsup2 I am glad I was able to catch up before you finished your Disneyland report. This is so exciting!
I just love all your pictures!

wow, all those stations. Is that typical?? What are they there for? All for you? if so...wow!

The number of stations and media covering an event varies depending on the nature of the special event. They were most definitely NOT all there for me! Toy Story Mania was the real star of the week and members of the media travelled from all over the country (as well as from Canada, Mexico, Korea, China, etc.) to be a part of the Grand Opening ceremony. I was just lucky enough to spend some time with them and do some interviews!

Thanks for stopping by! As always, it's great to "see" you. :) I really appreciate your kind comments! Please keep following the adventure and I promise to share everything I can with you guys!

Looks like California was good to you. I was over not winning and now I'm jealous again. Thanks again for all the updates!!!!

I have to admit: Amongst other things, I think I have photo-op envy! ;) 'Must be nice to have exclusive access to the Parks without a bazillion people milling around and ruining your snapshots! ::yes::

Thanks again for keeping us posted, Justin! I'm loving all of the photos and details! Keep 'em coming! (...I know you will! :thumbsup2 )

Justin I love love love reading all this. Thanks so much for letting us share this with you!:)

You are SO welcome! I didn't realize how much I had missed! I've been slacking!

ahh, Mr. Toad....just thinking about it makes me want to go to Disneyland to ride it! I hope they never part with it! (I at least want to ride it one more time, and who knows when I'll get a chance to go there :confused3 )

I think you are a star too! A bright shiny one! :goodvibes

I look forward to keeping up with your many adventures! When you find out what days you'll be in WDW in September, please let us know! (I'm sure there are plenty of us going for Free dining! popcorn::)

Great to see you again, DISgeeks! You're right, seeing the parks at all times of day is definitely one of the perks. It is amazing to me how much they change over the course of a day. It seems like each park has a different personality in the early morning than they do by lunch time. Late afternoon, with the sun and the people brings out an entirely different feel and by night time - with the lights on and the sun setting - they take on yet another beautiful new look. It's hard to explain but it is a joy to experience!

Thanks Cherbear! I'll keep you posted about September.

More pictures and updates coming today - I promise! I have to run some errands right now, but I'll get back on this afternoon to tease you all with some more photos!

See you soon!

Moving on with the pictures from my recent CMO trip to Disneyland. This next section is all from the opening ceremony for Toy Story Mania at Disney's California Adventure on Tuesday, June 17th.

The event started with 5 skydivers dressed as green army men parachuting into the lagoon by Paradise Pier. Quite an opening!

Sarge served as the Master of Ceremonies, but the list of VIP's and characters on hand for this was incredible. Here are some more fun pictures from the festivities . . .

There was even a musical number by the Green Army Men. Who knew?!

n506475946_942895_710.jpg

This is John Lasseter breaking the news to Sarge and Woody that Buzz wouldn't be joining them during the "Roll Call of Toys" because he was on a special mission of his own - having one of his dreams come true. If you haven't seen or heard about it, check out www.nasa.gov. Right now, Buzz Lightyear is on the international space station and Disney and NASA partnered to create some wonderful educational opportunities for kids and schools to learn more about math and science through Buzz's adventures in space.

n506475946_942896_1030.jpg

And this is Dr. Joyce Winterton from NASA explaining the educational partnership right after we watched a live-satellite feed of Buzz in space. It was pretty impressive!

After the ceremony, Dr. Winterton and Col. Jim Kelly spoke to 2nd graders from Mission Viejo Christian School and introduced them to some of the online games and experiences that Disney and NASA had developed. Col. Kelly is retired from the Air Force and has been on a couple of missions into space as an astronaut with NASA. It is incredible to meet and speak with someone who has seen our little planet from outer space. I could listen to him talk about his life experiences for a very long time!

Cool pictures Justin. I hope by including the nasa.gov link that folks will have their kids check out Buzz in space, and then our real space team.
