plus they didn't get our jokes, kinda pointless at times...i felt as though i was trying to have a battle of wits with unarmed persons...maybe we should just have a chat with fw folks....much easier to understand us simple folk....

Does anyone know why they close the chat room at certain times?...and if theirs a way to keep chat rooms open for live chats at anytime for each board...Id love to be able to go to a camping board chat room when ever I feel like logging on. and if it were just the camping board it may be easier to keep up with. Is this a question that needs to be asked on the tech boards?

Hey guys.

I'm the one who said simple versus deluxe, and I'm sorry you took it as being rude. I'm a camper and like things simple, which is what camping is to me -- I was thinking simple as camping. This as opposed to the people who like all the amenities like concierge, turn-down service, room service, etc. - you know, the pampered life.

I apologize that my comment came off as such, and kind of floored and embarrassed that it was so misinterpreted.

Unfortunately, you don't know me, or you would realize that I never meant it that way.

Dont sweat it Mary Jo...like I said, I didnt even think you realized how it sounded when it came out, I didnt even remember that it was YOU who said it because the room was waaay too fast for me to remember who said what!!!!
Im afraid that "I" have to take full responsibility for this, I pointed it out in the chat room, and I elaborated on it here on this thread...admittedly, I have a knack for stirring the pot, and often get into trouble for it.
I am a simple folk, at least when Im on vacation....I LOVE that the the "resort snobs" want nothing to do with me because I prefer to enjoy the last of the remaining wilderness' on the planet...something our great grandchildren may never get to know anything about. Im sorry that you came here and saw what was being posted about that comment....this IS a bit awkward....we tend to joke with a bit of a sting sometimes, and you caught us. We're USED to it, we insult each other constantly here, but when it comes down to it, we've all formed a pretty tight bond. But with you just recently joining in here(camping board..obviously not the DIS in general), Im afraid you may now have the wrong impression of us. It must seem as if we were ganging up and talking behind your back, and thats just not how we are. I hope this is coming out correctly and that Im not just digging myself a deeper hole!!!
I KNOW you are a camper ( Im a profile checker !!!), I now know you didnt mean it the way we took it...I (speaking for myself) appologize for what youve seen here, and hope you can understand that it wasnt a personal attack on you...just ME, jabbing fun at "those people" who think lesser of us for being campers. We hear alot of the "poor camping trash" comments made on other boards (especially the WL folks) and I guess I am a bit defensive about it. Sorry that you kinda got caught in it without warning. Being that you ARE a camper...you have the unspoken right to call us "simple folk", I mean...CAMPERS can pick on campers, but nobody ELSE can!!! I hope you can forgive what youve seen here and not think Im a total JERK....we mean well, and these guys are an incredible bunch of truely good hearted people, please dont judge them by MY actions.

As far as the sub forum i think it might finally be a reality, I did get a reponse from one of the webmasters finally. I'll keep you all informed if i get anymore information.
