Hello, been trying to Google around and can't find a recent answer. Does anyone know if the $300 travel credit that you get with the Chase Sapphire reserve credit card can be used for annual dues?

Since the dues code as travel, yes, the $300 credit should activate. It's not so much that you "use" it as you just see a credit come through for any travel charges until you've reached $300 in credits.

Thank you!

As others have mentioned it does count as travel so it will use the credit for whatever you have available to you.

Just remember if paying all of your dues with the CSR whatever is used by the credit will not earn the 3x on travel but the rest will.

The bonus offering makes it worth it for one year, not so sure after that.
DVC dues will still code as travel but I'm curious for those with new CSR's if the dues will earn 4x "as booked directly with the hotel" or just 1x.

Those of us who have had the card are used to it earning 3x but since the CSR took away general travel it will be interesting to see how much it earns.

Ahh yes another thing I forgot they changed the way it earns. 99.99% chance it will not code as a hotel

It shows as timeshare so I guess the question is that considered hotel?

I will charge a dollar towards my dues if no one has done it yet. I can’t try it until existing card holders get switched over which I believe is October 26th.

I have access to a new CSR that I just tested $1 on 🤣

This is what it shows pending:

I will report back when it posts and the "rewards earned with this transaction" generates.

Unfortunately I don’t think it will code as a hotel. My new plan is to use my MB everywhere on property and have it all go to my resort folio then having my CSR as the payment method there. That SHOULD work and get me the 4x (even better than the 3x at restaurants) but unfortunately I think that’s going to be our only way of getting bonus spend on the CSR with Disney going forward. 😢

Just booked a DCL cruise next winter and I’m going to pay in full now so it hits the 3x category before it’s gone in October. Sad days. First world problems.

Good idea. I'm going to stick to charging with MB and using Discounted Gift cards but for those that don't acquire them this is a great plan!!

When we were onsite in June my folio charge was categorized as Travel from Chase.
Yea thats correct, the hotel category is a new category so in June it wouldn’t have coded as a hotel because that category doesn’t exist. I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t code as a Hotel once the change made.
