I have the Chase Disney Visa and will be using it to book our April vacation as well as take advantage of the $300 I have earned so far. I have a few questions. Does the 6 months no interest happen automatically if you book the trip from the Disney site or do I have to call a special number to make my reservations? What about the special character meet and greets and picture, how do I make sure I receive that benefit? Also do you receive the discounts at Downtown Disney if you use the card automatically? I don't want to mess up and not get the special perks. Also, when I tranfer my rewards to a reward card can I use that card anywhere in Disney. For example if I transfer the $300 I have earned onto a card, can I use it at the Bibiddi Bobbiti Boutique? What about restaurants? As soon as the rates are released I am making my trip reservations and my head is swimming! Thanks!

Molly,
I can answer a few of your questions....I think.:)

Whatever balance you have on your Rewards card can be used at most places at Disney...stores, resorts, etc. It is kind of like a card credit. When it's all used up, hold onto it because the next time it can be replenished over the phone if it hasn't expired. The first time it came in the mail. Make sure you allow a little time for it to get to you in the mail before you go.

I believe there's an area in Epcot for the Disney Visa meet and greet. We've never used it. We will have to check it out next time. I think it's at certain times and we've missed it. Not sure though...

We used our Visa at the World of Disney store in Downtown Disney and they took 10% off the total. (This works in NYC too.)

HOpe this helps, at least a little.....Have a magical trip!!!!!

When they applied my charge to my Disney Visa they automatically put the Disney reservation $$$$ on a separate line on the bill. It has the date and the dollar amount that the interest deferral is good through. Have fun!!!!!

The points Reward card takes a few weeks in the mail to come. I would call and check with visa.

I ordered my rewards card as soon as I could. I've already gotten it, and am continuing to accrue rewards points. You can get the additional points added to your card. So - for me having it ahead of time leaves one less thing for me to worry about. They can also add the points on a the Disneyland Resorts.

We paid for our trip through AAA and it qualifies for the six months no interest.

I have a couple questions about the VISA, hope you dont mind me asking here. It says you have to have a current card -- I have one, but havent called in to activate it (been trying to hold off or just cancel - dont really need it)

BUT, it says in the paperwork you can get a free stroller rental with the card - is this for everyday you are in the park?? or just one time -- single or double, anyone know?

Also, for the free photo-op, do you just show them your card?

And, where can you get discounts in disney if you put things on this card? is there a list of stores ect?

Thanks
Kristie

Here's hoping I answer all the questions.

The Disney Meet and Greet is in Innovations (I can't remember if it's East or West, but it's the one to the right). You show them your Disney Visa and they give you a voucher to turn in at the Camera Center just to the right of SSE. I've done it the last two times we went. Our characters both times were Mickey and Pluto. From what I remember, you do have to use the voucher that same day. The hours are only until 4pm I believe.

As far as the 6 months interest free, I booked through Disney directly and it showed up on my card automatically.

The discount you get at World of Disney in DD can be used even if you do not put all of the purchases on your card. You just have to show your card. I actually got lucky, when we were there in June I had went in there one night and made about a $300 purchase, then another night was in there with about another $200 purchase and got in my bag and had left my card in the room. It was late and they were close to closing and the CM gave me the discount even though I didn't have it. I was too happy.

I had a balance on my reward card when we were there in March and used it for a purchase at AKL gift shop. It can be used I believe on any purchases at Disney. I think you might even be able to use it on your balance. I know I've read where you can use it to purchase tickets.

I can't answer as far as the stroller though because that is a new one I haven't heard about and dd9 hasn't used a stroller the last two times we were there.

Hope this helps everyone.

:confused3 How does the 10% discount at World of Disney (Downtown) work? Does the cashier take it off your bill when you are rung up? or does it appear on your statement? Also, anywhere else this discount is being accepted throughout WDW? :goodvibes ALMOST THERE.....

I believe the 10% comes off the total of the bill at purchase, not on your statement. That's too bad about the strollers. I was excited for a minute!!

When should I order my Rewards cards...we are going in November?

We went October 2006 and I was told by Disney Visa that it was a good idea to order the Rewards card no more than 2 weeks before our trip. So I transferred over everything at the end of September to make sure we had it in time.

You just show them your card and it comes directly off the purchase right then. You don't even have to use the card for the purchase. I didn't use mine for actual purchases. All you have to do is show it. There are no other merchandise discounts or restaurant discounts with the card that I have heard of and I've used my card the last 4 vacations to WDW.

Good thread, we'll be there next week so we'll try to use this discount as much as possible.
