Just wanted to share that if you get this offer........it is a good one.

We got the offer via snail mail, applied, got the card, charged something, paid the bill, and then called the rewards phone number and asked for a check. The check came in the mail a few days later and we deposited it. No pain, no drama. We were very pleased..................that will pay for about half of an AP!

Thats great - i did the $200 cash back offer - i charged the $500 in the first month...didn't even get a bill yet, But i think it said u have to wait 4-6 weeks? can i call after i pay my bill and request the cash back?

We did the same... got our $300 check right away. We use this card now for everything. Going to use the rewards for our yearly Disney trip. The measly 1% the Disney Visa gives you was no longer worth it. Just make sure you sign up for your 5% rewards quarterly.

Was it an offer only by snail mail? I can only find 100$$ cash back on the web site. I just had a conversation this weekend about using a credit card more often.....so I would apply for this.......but the 100 seems skimpy if I can get 300 !!!! Thanks!! Wendy

We applied for the Chase Freedom card and were denied because we already had 2 Chase Southwest Cards (one in my name and one in my husbands).

We were rather surprised that we were denied, as we both have very high credit scores. We are mostly cash paying people, and do not charge a lot. We would have liked to have received the $300 rewards since we are going on vacation soon and could have easily charged $500 worth.

We did, however, apply for the Discover card that had a $150 cash reward & have received it. ($300.00 would have been better tho!!)...

Thats odd, DH and I have two freedom cards EACH. But we have had them for years, maybe they changed their policy?

We did this in Dec and have already charged over $500. I have no idea when we will get the $300, does it show up as a reward or do they just send you a check?

Thanks,

Dawn

So do you think new Chase Freedom card holders can call and get the $300 rewards even if they did not receive the letter?

This is a targeted mailing that works like a disney pin.

On our first statement it showed we had accumulated 30,000 points.

We called the rewards phone number and instructed them to send us a check.

It shows up in your rewards, and then you have to request a check, or you can have it applied to your balance. I got the card back in June, and I think it was about a month before the $300 showed in my rewards. I got the check really fast in once I requested it though- I think it was less than 2 weeks. Now I just have the rewards applied to my balance- which gets added to my Disney fund.

Since it's been over 18 months since I got a bonus offer for my Disney visa, I've been using the freedom card way more because I can get more bang for my reward buck. All my credit card rewards go to our Disney fund, so I try to get the most return, even if it means not using my Disney visa as much, because 5% is better than 1%...and 1% is certainly better than 0%.

Overall, IMO, I think the Chase Freedom is an awesome card!
