Chase Disney Visa - Should I pull the trigger?

Hi,
I got an app for a Chase Disney Visa. My husband is going in November for a conference, and we plan on going for a week in April with the kids. First trips.

The application is for a Chase Disney Visa, no annual fee, $200 Disney gift card after first purchase. Looks like variable APR 14.24%. Oh, also 0% APR on disney vacation packages for 6 months.

Is this the most favorable terms for the disney chase visa? I'm not really worried about the rate, mostly the $200 dollar gift card. I pay off balances each month. Or, are there better offers?

This is the best offer I've seen. A few years ago I got mine, then a few months later dh got the same offer. We wondered if they would let him get one also,(being the same last name and address) so decided to try it (what was there to lose LOL) Well, he received one too, so we had $400 extra "free" $$'s for our next Disney trip
We also pay our balances each month, so have a good "chunk" of extra $$'s for each trip we take to see the Mouse
A no brainer for us.

Congrats on your Disney Visa card. Remember that Disney visa cardholders can get one free 5 x 7 picture a day at Epcot, there is a special area in Innovations where you show your card and get pictures with the characters. You can pick one pose that they will print for free.

This one has an annual fee but I plan on closing the card before I get charged the annual fee. I just wanted the $200 gift card .

We did the same ! About a week ago we were debating it and just going with the $50 gift card, but before we pilled the trigger, the next day we got $200 offer in the mail.

It is invitation code specific and you have to put your specific last name and address in...

Thanks for the link!! I have been looking for this offer. It has been my experience in the past they charge you the annual fee on your first statement, so I'm not sure you could cancel before they would charge you. Still if I don't get lucky enough for the no annual fee offer + $200, then I really don't mind paying the $49 plus a small purchase for a $200 gift card.

The Disney Cards we have that gave us the $200 did not have an annual fee. The annual fee one came out later and is not worth it to us. You have to get an invitation with your name on it in the mail to get the amount they offer. We had gotten anywhere from $25 - $100 before and just ignored those, but when they offered $200, both dh & I got cards (came at different times). We keep them now for the disney dollars points, but pay them off each month.

Am pretty sure that the annual fee is charged "up front", so you would be charged regardless once you use it - otherwise I don't see a penalty for canceling.

Getting credit cards and then canceling them, puts a ding on your credit score - lowering your FICA score. Not a smart financial move.

You don't actually get a gift card but rather 200 reward dollars on your account that can be redeemed for a $200 gift card. The points eventually expire (but it is YEARS). When you order that gift card, it has about an 18 month expiration date. All that to say, you'll be fine for a June 2013 trip.

The cards expire 12/31 of the year FOLLOWING the redemption of the card.

This means they are good somewhere between 1 year or one day less than 2 years.

A card activated on 12/31/11 expires on 12/31/12
A card activated on 1/1/12 expires on 12/31/13

I've seen some offers that say a statement credit(which I'm assuming is the reward points), but my offer says that I will receive a gift card after my first purchase with the visa.
If its reward points, can that be used towards a payment on my trip, I guess. I rarely use credit cards and have never had one with reward points.

If it states gift card then it will be a gift card that you receive in the mail.

When we received the offer, DH processed his application first with his name only, once we received his card, I then processed an application in my name. $400 in gift cards.
