Chase Disney Visa card SUCKS

Unfortunately, I have had far more than 1 bad rep. That is the source of my frustration.

We're also charter members (day one) and when it was a Bank One card it was great.

We're noticing some not so nice differences now with Chase. Bummer.

Now the only thing we use the card for is the dry cleaner and the vet-everyone else takes AmEx. Much better customer service/protection.

No problems for me yet--Charter Cardmember. I put everything on my Disney VISA, to the tune of probably $4000 a month on average, and always pay in full. The only times I've needed to call them was when I knew I'd be going on vacation or out of the local area, so my spending habits would change--I didn't want to get declined while on vacation. I told them where I was going and the dates--never had an issue. I've also had someone sell me something over the Internet which turned out to be a scam (no biggie--haircare products--only about $25). I was charged, but never received--found out later they were nonexistent... called Chase, told them about it, and they reversed the charge for me with no disucssion. Maybe I'm lucky, but so far I've not had a problem. I haven't taken advantage of the 6-months-no-interest yet... might do it for the upcoming cruise, though. One thing is for sure--I will call them ahead of time, and make them put notes on my account reflecting my intention to continue spending around $4000 a month, and pay that off (plus maybe a little of the vacation balance, so I don't have to pay it all at once...) If my happiness-meter drops, I'll come back and look for this thread!!! :rotfl:

I have not had problems with my Chase Disney Visa, but other Chase cards. Dealing with customer service is so upsetting! They have to write up what you say and send it to someone else to investigate, then 2 weeks later you get a letter about the resolution. They misunderstood my problem two calls in a row, so it took 6 weeks to get it fixed. I have had problems receiving promotional reward points on my Toys R Us Visa and cash rewards on the Cash Plus Rewards card. Once my 0% interest promotions have run out, I am going to stop using them. I did get a letter fom Kohl's that Chase is taking over their credit card, which has me worried because I use that a lot for promotional discounts too.

I do have a friend with a disney Visa that keeps getting declined for no reason. She's very frustrated with them.

My husband has had both a Chase checking account and a regular Chase Visa and as soon as I can get things around here straightened out, we're dumping Chase. What a bunch of screw ups! They take forever to clear checks, jack up interest rates whenever they feel like it and just in general seem to have no clue.

In contrast I've been quite pleased with Bank of America who I bank with now. Also for the person who said that Capital One customer service has been nice, from one who used to work for them - just don't EVER be late. It can all change very suddenly.

No problems with my Disney Visa. It took them a little while to take off two fradulent charges, but not an unreasonable amount of time and they weren't for very much.

I am a little concerned about the number of people here who have reported fradulent charges on their Disney Visa. Are Disney Visas or cards used at WDW more often victimized?

Mine was a strange case where there were two relatively small charges at gas stations in Florida. I didn't notice it when I checked my bill online because they are gas stations that I use in at home. Then when I recieved the bill in the mail and called Chase, they said that my card number had been swiped at the pump? Anyone know anything about this type of fradulent activity?

I haven't had a problem with them exactly, but I had to call about something and the guy said, "Have you noticed your interest rate going up lately?" Uh, no...I carry a small balance (less than $1,000) and interest rates, in general, are going up, so I sort of just expect it. If it went up to 18%, I'd question it, but it's still low in the grand scheme of things. He goes on to say, "There has been a huge increase in identity theft and a rising interest rate is a sign of identity theft." I told him I just checked my credit report and it was fine. He just wouldn't quit and kept trying to sell me their credit protector. Dude, I don't want it. I'm fine managing my credit. I know the sign of identity theft and I don't need to pay you people $30./month. He made some comment about my credit score "obviously" going lower as indicated by my rising interest rate (it's still under 10%, so my credit score isn't suffering in any way). :sad2: I thanked him for his help with the issue I had and hung up. Lousy sales tactics.

First off, call the Cust. No-Service number and ask to speak to a supervisor. But, don't threaten to cancel the card. If you cancel the card, you lose all bargaining power. Ask them why your promotional rate was removed, and indicate that they need to restore it if you have not violated any of the terms of your agreement. Once the card is paid off, then cancel it. Now, one thing you may not realize if you didn't read the fine print -- Chase requires your payment to be in their hands PRIOR TO 8:00 a.m. on the day the payment is due. If it reaches their lockbox, or their internet payment system, after 8:00 a.m., it is considered late.

Second, don't just vent here (nothing wrong with that, just don't stop here). You need to contact Disney and let them know of your displeasure with their business partner. Your letter may not change anything by itself, but if they never hear, they won't know that a problem exists.

Third, and this is personal opinion, I will NOT do business with Chase Bank for anything because of their poor customer service and issues I have dealt with in the past. I recently told a car dealer I would not buy a vehicle from him if he only had Chase Bank financing. They, and Bank One that they purchased, have been the subject of multiple class action suits.

I agree with all three of your points. One wonders if Chase intentionally causes a ding on credit ratings to prevent borrowers from going elsewhere so they are trapped into staying with them. Bank One reports a lower credit limit that equals the highest amount charged to ruin your debt to available credit ratio. With regard to Chase Financing? Horrendous experience. We lease a mini van several years ago because I knew I didn't need a mini van for a long time. We changed the terms of the lease with regard to miles per year, paid those additional costs all the way through the lease and at the end they tried to charge us $1500 for mileage overages! It was a pain to get them to see the black and white contract before them! I thought we were done with Chase and didn't DH get a Chase/Continental card for 10K. Now that the miles are credited, he plans to dump the card.

You know that symbol for Chase? It is supposed to be an octagon but what it really is is a zero. It is how much customer service you can expect on any of their products. Ironically, it is also the amount of business they can expect from me.

The got my Disney Visa in pieces after they purchased my mortgage and proceded to improperly handle the escrow, nearly got my insurance canceled by not paying the premium, and hung up on me when I was trying to fix the situation.

Disney ought to be embarased to have Chase as a parner.
