Chase Disney Visa card SUCKS

Another day one, no problem family here. I also have never carried a balance. Always paid in full or even a dollar or two over every month (like those $5 intervals).

I just have a regular Chase, not a Disney Chase, I'm not sure if it is the same company or same customer service but I always have problems with them.

They have always given me bad customer service and as soon as I get this card payed off, I'm going to just close the account. However whenever I call and speak to the Capital One customer service they have been very nice. :confused3

No problems from me either! I'm happy with the disney card and pay my bill in full each month.

Another day 1 customer with no problems here either. Of course, I've never had to call them or booked a cruise using it either.

WE aren't going to stop using it or stop paying it in full every month. WE just know now that when it gets declined it is because they want us to call and check in with them for whatever reason. Our cards say "Charter Member". Does that mean we've been with them since "DAy 1", too? :confused3

WE've had our account "frozen" several times for "unusual activity." The "unusual activity" was paying the balance in full every single month. WE know they have frozen us when our card gets declined. Now we only have to have it declined once to know to call and they will say "Did you know your balance has been paid in full every month?" We say "Yes." And they un-block our account.

Yeah, because there are so many criminals out there paying off people's credit card bills! Now where can I find one of those crooks!! :confused3

That's good to know! I have never had a problem, but I recently started charging EVERYTHING (groceries, utilities, etc) on the card and then paying the balance in full each month to rack up my reward points. I wonder if they are trying to discourage that. I would immediately think someone had stolen my card number and maxed it if my card was declined, not that it was frozen for paying off my balance!

WE charge everything! And I do mean everything! It is one we can't figure out. If your card gets declined call them immediately to find out why. The first time it happened to me Dh and I were running errands separately and it ahppened to both of us. I thought the store I was at was having a malfunction with their machine. I called Dh and he had thought the same thing where he was at! :lmao: Nope, we called them and it was due to suspicious activity. The suspicious activity being our bill being paid in full recently the sme as it had been every month for years in a row!

We call them "rogue bill payers" :rotfl: I once had my brother pay my bill at LS Ayers when he was heading there. I gave him the stub and check and told him to drop it off. The woman had to get a supervisor to see if she could accept it.

Add me to the list of people who have never had a problem. I pay my bill in full every month (usually $3K+) and have always had a 0% interest rate listed on every bill. I've also paid my bill on the day it's due via their online payment system, after 8am, and it's never been late.

We just closed our regular Chase card because they kept upping the interest rate very small increments every month. My hisband hadn't looked at the statement real close for a few months and saw an increase in the in terest rate, so he started to go back over all our statement and there is a teeny increase every month. Calling CS we were basically told they do it because they can. (Nope, no late pymts or anything). We did carry a balance but we paid it off now and closed it down when they wouldn't lower the rate back to where it was.

Day 1 member here with tons of problems, which is why the card is going away. I'm just trying to get all the autocharge stuff transferred to another card, and we had a LOT of it, some only semi-annual and we're still trying to figure it all out.

Anyhow, I've had at least four times that I've made alrge payments--$10-15,000 at a time, and they've taken ten or more days from the time it was taken from my checking account for it to clear. No one can give me a straight answer as to why. And some of them have been laughable. My favorite was "National Security." :rotfl2: It wasn't a CASH transaction, both accounts have been open for a long time, and all the money was easily traceable. It was them collecting interest on my money!

Also we had a problem with them putting security blocks on our card while we were driving to Florida with a truck full of household goods and a car trying to beat Hurricane Frances. We'd call, they'd remove the block, and then three hours later at the next gas station we'd run into the same issue. I finally LOST IT and got a supervisor on the phone, and we didn't ahve another problem--on that trip.

I've had lots of problems with Chase over the years, including one where they took my car payment out three times in one day and told me it could take several weeks to send me a check. Huh? You took it out, you put it back! The same month they neglected to take DH's car payment, when we called several times they said they were working on it and then tried to charge us a late fee, even after they told us not to send a check. I got a personal letter of apology from a very senior person at Chase and $50 in Shell gas cards for that one.

Those are just a couple of the headaches we've had, they are just a lousy bank to deal with. THe Disney Visa is the last thing I've got open with them, and like I said, not for much longer.

BTW--I actually took a car loan at a higher rate with another bank after that mess just to avoid doing business with them. That speaks volumes as to how disgusted I am with them.

I have had my Disney Visa for about 4 years and never had a problem with them.

Find one for me too!

I'm a "day one" happy camper also. No problems yet.

WOW! I hadnt expected so many responses. I have also had my card since "Day One" as many of you had said. I have also called many times in the past to have erroneous charges removed. The point is that, every single charge that was erroneous has been their fault. I may be a little too anal, but I am a CPA, so I cannot help but scrutinize every transaction that comes through. Not to mention the fact that it is the only card I use. The last "straw" was that I paid my entire balance on the closing date of my my EXCEPT the exact amount of my promotional rate. Just to let you know, I have other cards, Home Depot, Citibank, etc that offer the same 0% deal, and I have done the same thing with them and never had a problem. Chase used my payment to first wipe out my promo balance-which had about 4 months left out of 6 total. They then applied the rest to the revolving balance, and charged me interest on the amount left. I called to redirect the way it was applied. I have had to do this with Home Depot before, and they are extremely accomodating. They told me it was my fault for paying so "early" and they would reverse the finance charges, but that I would have to call back every month to correct their mistake. They did in fact, admit it was their mistake when I first called. I have read other posts on the DIS, where the exact same thing happened to other people BTW, so I am not the first.
Well, this is the 3rd month I have had to call, and the lady was so rude, and flat out said no. I explained the whole thing, which she already had notes on, but she wouldnt budge.
I am glad most of you have not had the same horrible experience, and I hope you dont-just putting it out there.
If you search the boards-you will see MANY other posts like mine-I have read them myself.

PS-TiggerKing-If I was to call Disney and complain-or at least inform them, what would be the correct contact for this? I would have done that first! I just know people from Disney read this board and it was the first place I thought of!

Thanks everyone-still amazed at the response.

One other note-
Going back through the posts-it looks like the people with problems are the ones who pay off the balance ON TIME every month. Go figure

I've had mine for about 3 years and I've never had a problem. I love the rewards and I love having a few extra dollars to spend in WDW. Maybe I've been lucky, but customer service has been great. I once got someone who was a little confused, so I just called back and got someone else who was perfect.

When I first got the card, I happened to be on vacation when the bill came - a little over 3 years ago and I accidentally sent the payment in late. They Customer Service agent removed the late fee completely, and took care of it all for me very nicely. Another time, a website company accidentally charged me 2000 instead of 200. I spoke to the company, but they told me to call the credit card company to let them know to be on the lookout for a change. Chase took care of it immediately, even reassured me not to worry. Customer service can vary so much, though. If you get one horrible rep. it will ruin your experience, even if there are 100 good ones.
