Is getting it worth the 49 annual fee? What are the perks? I only have one credit card with a 1400 balance that will be paid off within the year.

The regular Visa has no fee. The premier visa has the fee. There is also a Disney debit card that offers the same perks as the visa, but it does not earn rewards. We have the premier, but we charge everything we possibly can and pay it off each month. I would not get a Disney Visa unless you intend to pay it off in full each month. The interest wouldn't make it worth the rewards.

Correct - the regular (no fee) Disney visa earns one percent "Disney rewards" on all purchases, but the premier (with the $49 fee) earns two percent on disney-related purchases, gas, and participating grocery stores. So if you spend more than five thousand per year on some combination of disney, gas, and participating grocery stores, then worth it. But as prior poster noted, if you are carrying a balance, and not paying off monthly purchases, then not worth it. The interest charge you would be paying (maybe 15 or 20 percent) is much higher than the one or two percent you are "earning".

The premier card also earns 2% at restaurants. :goodvibes

Not worth it IMO. I have a regular Disney Visa and then I also have a Chase Freedom Visa. The Chase Freedom charges no annual fee and they offer 5% back on certain categories 3 months at a time. Gas is usually in these categories 6 months out of the year and we rake in the bucks during these times. I already have over $250 saved up for my next trip by using this card.

I also have a Southwest Visa that I've used on our past three trips and it paid for our entire family to fly roundtrip. That saved thousands right there. As long as you pay off the balances each month, these credit cards can work for you :)

I have the regular Disney visa but I don't use it for the rewards. I use it to get 0% for 6 mos on Disney cruises. For our day-to day purchases, I use our SWA visa. The points rack up quickly. We earn a one way to MCO every 1.5 months. :thumbsup2
