Hello, I made these charts that show the potential savings with the "Summertime Savings" 30% off Values and Moderates and 40% off Deluxe and Deluxe Villas. The prices are for weekdays in August and September, so weekend nights may add $10 to the pre-discounted nightly price and October 1st and October 2nd will be more expensive because it switches from Value to Regular season.
To figure out which discount might be better, you'll need to calculate how much you would save with the Free Dining promotion. If you don't know how to do that, try this:
For your stay at a Value resort, you "save" $32 per night for adults and $10 per night for kids age 3-9 and receive the Quick Service Dining Plan. This represents the cost of adding the Quick Service Dining Plan. You may upgrade to the "regular" Disney Dining Plan for an additional $10 for adults and $2 for kids age 3-9 so don't forget to add that if you're planning to upgrade. For example, a family of two adults, one ten year old and one five year old would save $106 ($32 for each of the adults, $32 for the ten year old, and $10 for the five year old). Upgrading to the regular Disney Dining Plan would cost $32 per night out of pocket.
For your stay at a Moderate, Deluxe, or Deluxe Villa, you save $42 per night for adults and $12 per night for kids age 3-9. For the family above, the savings would be $138 per night.
So once you figure that out, you can compare your savings with free dining to the savings from the summertime discount. Remember, you can always add tickets and dining to the "room only" discount and make it a package. Disney just doesn't want to confuse you into thinking you'll get 30 or 40 percent off the price of dining and the tickets as well. Also, you can only use one discount. They'll never let you combine both Free Dining and Summertime Savings or any other discount like AAA, Annual Passholder, etc.
Not all of the rooms shown will necessarily be available. A lot of the suites and views aren't included, at least at the moment. For example, for the Contemporary, Disney booking is only showing availability for the Tower, not Garden Wing.
If this has already been posted I'm sorry and will delete. I didn't see charts like this posted yet.
