Hey DISers,

I know I've seen this topic but I can't find what I'm looking for.

We could possibly have up to 90 guests, which means we need two charters @ a 9 hour rate (2:30 ceremony, followed by reception and dessert party) which is totaling $1,833. Is there a cheaper option I've read about, or am I confusing it with something else?

TIA! :worship:

Where are your locations? Sometimes you can do round rip with an extra stop thrown in and it ends up being cheaper than the charter.

We have chartered one to make several runs between Boardwalk, Coronado, and the GF and were only charged $781.20 for a similar guest count. Hope this helps!

Ooh interesting, maybe that's what I was thinking of, Wendy.

Our resorts are: POFQ, ASM, and GF. We definitely need the 2 charters since one holds 55 and we will likely have 70-90 guests.

They'd be stopping at POFQ, ASM, and I guess GF to pickup around 1:30 or something. Then they would take folks to Epcot for the dessert party, then back to all three resorts afterwards around 10:30pm.

We have to do 2 buses as well but one we are dropping after 4 hours. We have 100ppl. only 5-10 will have cars. But about 40 are staying at Yacht and/or Beach club where the reception is.

2 Buses picking up from AK Lodge, Yacht&Beach, POFQ, and ASMovies taking to WP then to reception. Only need one bus to make return trips to AK, PO and AS. Its saving a great deal then having both for the full 8-9 hours.

We got the cost down to $12-1500 that way.

Bippi, you are my hero. :)

Question, to make sure I understand. You have two buses picking up, but then only one dropping off....are you just using the one for drop-off and having it make two trips? Just trying to figure out how you're getting both groups back.

Thank you!!!

When you charter a motor coach, it makes return trips every hour throughout your reception. Since people leave at different times and there are multiple opportunities to catch it, you don't have to worry about it filling up on the return trip.

Thanks, Carrie, I had no idea! Does this change given that I'm having a DP in Epcot, or would I be able to just do a single charter that makes two trips?

Hmmm... The trouble is that the DP is only an hour, so there's no time for it to leave on multiple return trips before the party ends like it can with a reception. You might price out having the charter buses leave after the minimum number of hours and then using multiple smaller forms of transport to see if it'd be any cheaper, but I'm guessing the price difference would be negligible...
